This is the first time I've ever tried this software (as far as I can tell, it's brand-new) but when I tried to use the trial version it said my license had already expired. What gives? [alert admin]

Pixelmator 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)
I really want to love Pixelmator - it is beautiful, and I have been waiting for a graphics app with great automator support. But it is missing important features (most notably there is no raw support) and with GraphicConverter out there as a shareware benchmark, the price for this is just too high. Performance on my macpro is pretty good, on my macbook it is not so hot. [alert admin]

HandBrake 0.9.0 (Mac OS X)
Wow guys, version .9 is about 450% faster than the previous rev on my MacPro - that multithreading really works. Great app! [alert admin]

MetaX 2.0 (Mac OS X)
This is the only tool I've found that will auto-search for data about my files. That's a great thing! I wish it could handle TV shows, and I wish it would peek into the existing metadata for info about the file. It seems to crash a lot if the queue gets too long, but that's ok - the price is right :) [alert admin]

Quickie X Web Albums 4.3.1 (Mac OS X)
jAlbum is free, fast, customizable, and highly professional-looking - why would anyone pay for something like this? [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 4124.0 (Mac OS X)
I was a happy user of Parallels 2 and 2.5, though I was eagerly waiting for 3D support (which had been promised as a 2.0/2.5 upgrade) So I was disappointed that I had to pay for 3.0, but I did it because 3D is very important to me. Big mistake! 3D 'support' just doesn't seem to work at all yet. Even with DirectX enabled in the preferences, Windows doesn't seem to see my graphics card (stock Nvidia 7300 from my MacPro) Games (Oblivion) crash out as soon as they try to create a 3D window, and Parallels tech support is MIA. So, avoid this so-called upgrade. Stick to 2.5 for 2D stuff, and Boot Camp (or maybe VMWare?) for 3D [alert admin]

OnyX 1.7.9 (Mac OS X)
I've been using Onyx very happily for a year or two now. I've never had a problem, and it's come to my rescue on several occasions as well. Many of the issues being reported seem like they come from people who didn't know what they were doing when they chose advanced options. I'd encourage people to make sure they know what will happen before they use system utils like this. All in all though, big thumbs up for OnyX [alert admin]

Google Earth 4.0.2694 (Mac OS X)
It really peeves me when an otherwise useful app gets corrupted with bogus christmas cruft for no reason. Please Google, keep fantasy out of your apps, respect diversity, and leave religion to families and religious communities. Remind yourself - Don't Be Evil. [alert admin]

Quicksilver and Butler are fantastic and free. Launchbar is tried-and-true - what does this bring to the table? [alert admin]

Actually, the Adobe license explicitly permits installation on two machines per license.
