MenuCalendarClock 1.5.0 (Mac OS X)

ug...

The older, free-er version of this software: CalenderClock is much better. If you can find it I recommend using that instead, this version is just silly. [alert admin]

Ulysses 1.1 (Mac OS X)

To those of you with concerns...

To those of you with concerns about buying a product with questionable longevity, your fears are not unfounded. However, you can rest assured that no matter what state Blue-Tec is in, financially speaking, you can always recover your files. This is due to the intelligence of the developer. All your work is preserved in plain-text and rich-text within the project document. A project file is just a folder with an extension, your files are safe and sound inside. I wish more developers were this smart. [alert admin]

Final Draft 7 0.0.54 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Same problem as unSane

I've had a lot of problems like the ones unSane describes. I've reverted to creating a disk image of the CD and mounting it internally with Toast. This tricks out Final Draft into thinking you have a CD in the drive. I can then bypass the authorization altogether without keeping a copy of the CD with me all the time. It's too much of a pain to authorize. [alert admin]

Final Draft 7 0.0.54 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

yup

Far too little, far too late. It's time for someone to put Final Draft where it belongs, in the trash bin. [alert admin]

Tag 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Not Bad.

Yeah, Tag is nice. It's a beautifully rendered application with lots of little things that web developers are sure to love. The "Snippets" feature is nice, as well as the "Table editor," I really like the fact that you can create your own code styles for highlighting of text. But the harsh reality of it is that Tag is really no better that SubEthaEdit for the vast majority of people. While some developers will find the few well-implemented features mentioned above useful and enough to justify the cost, I suspect that most, like me, will not. SubEthaEdit is simply too close to providing all these features for free. Yeah, Tag is nice... but not $20 nicer that SubEthaEdit. [alert admin]

Final Draft 7.0.0.40 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Pathetic

Final Draft continues to remind me to never-ever accept the status quo as an acceptable solution to a practical problem without first triple-checking the logic. I've used Final Daft for 6 years and Never, ever has it been worse. Where are you developers of the world? Save us! [alert admin]

FontVista X 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Subfolders Bug

I wanted to use this to catalog all my fonts so I can keep them on CD and pull up a PDF when I wanted to review my fonts. however, there seems to be a major bug that prevents you from doing so. It only prints out pages properly when all your fonts are not contained within subfolders. So this means you must move ALL your fonts into one massive folder in folder in order to print them out to PDF. Until this is fixed... utterly useless. But I must say, if this functionality worked... the program would be great (besides being deathly slow). [alert admin]

Dockprefs 1.4.3 (Mac OS X)

Prefling

I'm not saying Dockprefs is bad... but Prefling is a simpler (the code) dockling and is up to snuff with the legit way of creating docklings. Also if you want it in your menubar instead, prefsmenu is great. [alert admin]
