EasyFind 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)

THANK YOU!

Finally! Finally I have found an application that can actually Find my local files again. Spotlight really doesn't cut it for me, because it doesn't really find most of what I have (yes, I have rebuilt the index of it more than once, and the preferences of Spotlight are OK), and the display of the results in the Finder is just a sad joke. I do use CDFinder to keep catalogs of all my local disks, but sometimes, EasyFind is just the way to go for a really rapid search. Thank you for making it and providing it for free!!!!! Picturesque 2.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Easy to use, really!

I needed to spiff up some screenshots for a website, and this was just the perfect tool for it. Now my images all look modern and cool, with a nice 3D effect and a mirroring of the image. Picturesque is a tad pricey, but it gets the job done, and that is what counts. I had try to get the same effects with GraphicConverter, and while GC is really able to do that, too, it was a nightmare to set up the parameters for the image effects (you actually had to type in numbers for coordinates in GraphicConverter!!!) So Picturesque really was a no-brainer for me... [alert admin]

GPS-Info CMM 1.1 (Mac OS X)

Real help when dealing with geotagging

I found this gem a few months ago, and I was impressed immediately. Directly inside the Finder, this shows if a photo has GPS data inside the EXIF record, displays that coordinate, and even "flies" your Google Earth to that location! This is a huge help if dealing with geotagged photo files. A super cool bonus is the support for URLs that contain GPS coordiantes, for services such as Flickr. Although I don't use Flickr, I do love to use Panoramio and WikiMapia, and the direct link with GPS-Info is incredibly helpful for me. With some fiddling, you can even add your own services to that list! One feature I would love to see is a KMZ export including a thumbnail of the photo, and eventually the export of more than one file at once into one KMZ... But hey, it is free, and the devleoper quickly responded to my suggestions... [alert admin]

CDFinder 4.2.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Scroll wheel issues???

GooGoo, I cannot see any problem with the scroll wheels. Everything works really nice and smooth for me. And the new Path Finder support is really nice, too!!! You should state what version of Mac OS X you use! [alert admin]

CDFinder 4.2.1 (Mac OS X)

Really good update!!!

Finally the contextual menu module (CDfinder CMM) made it into Mac OS X, so I can now start cataloging my disks directly from inside the Finder. Very cool! The documentation is still not complete, tough...

ibis: The export function works very well for me. Did you even bother to contact the devleoper about this issue you think you have?

FireStarter FX 1.0b3 (Mac OS X)

Cool!

I am amazed! It nicely burn .cue files, it supports my burner, and it can even over-burn. Wow! I did have a problem with FireStarter not being able to eject a disk after the burn, but it turned out to be a flaky FireWire cable/plug. Also, it could not burn a brand of 800 MB disks, but as these were also not very successfully burned on a PC, it is very likel not FireStarts problem. It still has some user interface issues (MB count in burning progress should be reset to 0 for the htree parts of a disk...), but other than that, it is really great!!! [alert admin]

CDFinder 4.1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Juarez, think again ;-)

Hey, that comment of yours is not very helpful. Maybe you should state the version of the Mac OS you use, the type of disk you try to update, the prio CDFinder version that was supposed to be faster, your catalog settings, and such. That would be more helpful. And even better, tell the developer team!!!! They might be interested in this!!!! Really! [alert admin]

LACKING FEATURE

But it is already there!!! Use AppleScript to have CDFinder catalogue any disks you want at launch or shutdown! Read the Users Guide, Section appleScript, for examples. The Script menu already contains a sample, too...
