Canon CanoScan Toolbox 4.9.3.4X (Mac OS X)
Broken, old version working ok
My experience was somewhat the opposite of what was expected. I installed the old versions of the driver and software off the CD today with new Canoscan LiDE 25. Worked ok. Downloaded and installed latest driver and software off Canon web site. Scanner stopped working. Uninstalled new driver, reinstalled old driver. Working again. Mac OS X 10.5.2. Intel iMac, Your milage may vary! [alert admin]

I wanted a widget with nice display of time in multiple cities. This does it well, so worth buying for me. YMMV [alert admin]

Send SMS 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Convenient enough to pay for, YMMV
If I am sitting at a computer I prefer using the computer keyboard for sms. I can send sms through web page with phone service provider, but don't have all phone numbers automatically available. I can send sms through phone using bluetooth, but don't have bluetooth on all my computers and don't have it turned on all the time (battery life). Cost per message for Send SMS is slightly cheaper than using phone on current prepay plan, so trying it for a year just for the convenience! [alert admin]

The 4.0b1 beta version is showing me that I have two old version of an application, shows the same path for both, and in fact I have the latest version. Then it crashed. Heading back to a stable version for now!

I would like a manual recheck of some sort too. Often I install an update manually, prompted by VersionTracker, and I want to get VersionTracker to note the change. Sometimes just so that the Version Tracker info is up to date, sometimes because I am working through a number of items in VT and want to keep track.
