like that it fixes font problems (a big plus, especially as Illustrator 10 is super finicky) and the interface is great. However, it crashes every other time I try to import a font. That sucks. Still has nice potential. [alert admin]

another dumb user spouting off trash on a fine product simply because they don't know what they are talking about. If you would simply check "Passive FTP" you'd find RBrowser to be nearly instant. RBrowser is hardly slow, indeed it can nearly saturate our network with transfers. [alert admin]

Path Finder 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)
root, move /system/library/coreservices/Finder.app to the /applications folder. Put this in it's place, rename as finder.app and reboot. :) [alert admin]

I wasn't talking about network servers when referring to the firewall, I was talking about the one that's built into the copy of OS X that's running on your Mac. Mine was rejecting requests to port 453, and I suspect lots of folks have the firewall up and don't know it. A simple change in Brickhouse (or ipfw if you prefer to do it terminal wise) and you're set. In any case, now it lets me mount shares that were seemingly blocked though I had access to them. Tweak the UI a bit and it'll be nice! Perhaps integrate it more into the finder... [alert admin]

SMB Browse 0.71 (Mac OS X)
can't see shares your firewall is likely set to deny packets from port 453. Simply allow packets from 453 to enter from your WINS server and you'll see the shares. Simple. Of course, for some reason I can't get onto shares I have access to. Strange. What's up with not remembering settings from session to session? Fix it! ;) [alert admin]

OpenOSX Office 0.9 (Mac OS X)
CD, and I'll likely buy this one as well. Why? Because hundreds of megs of files at 56K takes up more of my time than $30 worth. Not to mention installation and configuring. The GIMP CD installed in less than 30 seconds, one minute later I was using it. Yes, I've downloaded and installed fink and other open source software before, it's easy to do. BUT it's not THIS easy or fast. BTW Jeshua is an active member, and he's got quite good service too if you have any trouble. [alert admin]

ASM 2.0 (Mac OS X)
The integration between X and Classic is now fabulous, with ASM allowing you to hide the dock automatically in classic apps. Super! Once I have all cocoa or carbon apps I probably won't use it anymore, but until that day it's a godsend. And it's FREE! [alert admin]

WindowShade X 1.0 (Mac OS X)
hated windowshading, this one really sucks. Doesn't work in cocoa apps at all, only allows you to make the window translucent, so you still have to either move it to the dock or move the window. Shouldn't have been released unless cocoa apps windowshaded propery.. that's a no-brainer. [alert admin]

WinCompressX 1.0 (Mac OS X)
reason this wasn't enabled is that it screws with the kernel. It should be enabled on the first update of 10.1. Also if you use OpenGL programs in classic like Strata3D, don't expect them to work for more than a minute or so before quitting. It seems to have a negative effect on OpenGL. Strata crashed constantly once I enabled this (via terminal, not with this thing), when I disabled it Strata has been running two days straight without a crash. [alert admin]

using 10.1? This update is not for 10.0.4 or earlier, it will exhibit problems like those you mention. [alert admin]
