Xounds 2.4 (Mac OS X)

Permanently damages system

Like many people, I would like more system sounds than Apple builds OS X with. But I also want a stable operating system. After troubleshooting with the experts at Apple, we determined that the system crashes I experienced, including the cessation of Apple system sounds, crashing of multiple programs, destruction of Display systems on my monitor, and more were most certainly the result of Xounds and Ape. Apple specifically discourages the use of ALL such system-altering software. Xounds is dangerous. Before I called Apple, I contacted the developer. He, Andreas, gave me no help beyond telling me to "Restart!" When I told him that did not work, he let me know I was stupid. Are developers allowed to rate their own product here? [alert admin]

Homeland Alert 3.5 (Mac OS X)

Superman, where are you?

.

A hundred million people have invaded this country since 1960;* Bush wants more. There are no borders — there is no "homeland security."

Out of principle, don't get this.

*Pop US, 1960: 180 mil. Pop US, 2000: 280 mil. Native birth rate has been negative since 1961. [alert admin]

Eyeballs 3.1 (Mac OS X)

Great Pirate!

The new Pirate skin is fantastic! The gold nose ring is a cool touch.

Tip: You can have a skin floating around and keep some eyeballs in the Menu Bar if you load the program twice. (I put Eyeballs in my Login Items.) [alert admin]

SafariSorter 2.1 (Mac OS X)

I hope Apple BUYS this...

Really, Apple ought to build this into Safari.

This does everything it should! Thanks, Raisinland for putting in all the suggestions. Nothing beats the Apple users' community!

This and Eyeballs really make my Mac come alive.

Saft 6.0.0 (Mac OS X)

This Could Handle Cookies!

This is such a nice elegant fix to Safari! The developer's idea for modifying Preferences works so well, I wish he had the time to add Preferences to handle cookies better. Omniweb's current version does this — but it is not yet stable enough to use. Safari has a Preference to "Accept Cookies: Never," but this does not quite do the job.

All that is needed are two tweaks: (1) Always allow domains such as *apple.com; and (2) Always allow and Dump at end of session domains such as *yahoo.com (for mail).

So simple! I'm no programmer, but I cannot imagine how this would entail much more work. Pithhelmet's developer has already done the bulk of it. This fix would certainly beat out external cookie managers and deleting cookies in Safari by hand! [alert admin]

Safari Extender 1.0.5 (Mac OS X)

Another Feature Request

I like this idea to build new features into Safari. What about cookies? Omniweb has a great way to handle them, but it is Beta and unstable. Safari already has a Preference to "Accept Cookies: Never," but I still have to control cookies by hand.

All that is needed are two tweaks: (1) Always allow such as *apple.com; and (2) Always allow and Dump at end of session domains such as *yahoo.com (for mail).

I'm no programmer, but I think an app. for developers, "SIMBL" already makes modifying Preferences easy. I use Saft and Pithhelmet which use that. Maybe that would help.

Bad Cookie! X 1.6.1 (Mac OS X)

Wouldn't it be simpler?

The idea for cookie managers is great, but wouldn't it be simpler just to build in Preferences to Safari than to have a separate and external program? Safari already has a Preference to "Accept Cookies: Never."
