Proper Fraction Pro 2.0 (Mac OS X)
For anyone who has struggled with creating fractions, you must try Proper Fraction Pro. This is the second script I've bought from Dan Rodney (the other was for making book jackets) and clearly he understands not only the problems users face when working with fractions, but the best solutions. Although the cost may seem steep ($75), for InDesign there's nothing like this on the market. Moreover, if you use lots of fractions as I do, you'll soon forget the price and revel in the result. BTW, Dan also has a free version of this script without all the advanced features that's worth downloading for casual fraction users. [alert admin]

Phantasm CS 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Great plug-in, beautifully implemented ![]()

Hats off the the developers of this plug-in for AI. If you know Photoshop adjustments like Levels and Curves, you'll immediately be comfortable using Phantasm. What makes it even more valuable than AI CS3's wonderful new Live Color feature is the ability to run it as a non-destructive Effect. I also think the $37 price is reasonable given its power. Highly recommended. [alert admin]

FileChute 2.5.6 (Mac OS X)
Just downloaded this latest rev, but every time I launch the app it quits on me. Anybody else? Otherwise, great little utility. [alert admin]

After decompressing the file, I can't get the .dmg file to mount. At least not on my MacBook C2D. [alert admin]

Boinx Mousepose 2.0 (Mac OS X)
As an Adobe Certified Trainer, my students are often more impressed by Mousepose than whatever I'm teaching! This new version looks to improve on what's already a great app. [alert admin]

QuarkXPress 7.0 (Mac OS X)
While I'm happy that Quark continues to chase Adobe's tail, QuarkXPress version 7.0 has little to recommend over InDesign CS2. When the Harvard Business School invites me to address its graduating class on the subject of why businesses succeed and then fail, Quark will make one helluva of a case study. [alert admin]

DropCopy 0.5.2 (Mac OS X)
Such a simple little utility, but nearly perfect. Very useful if you've got a couple of computers networked. Curious to see how much it'll cost when it comes out of beta. [alert admin]

Mail Attachments Iconizer 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Displaying images in Mail generally drives me mad. Thanks for this simple solution. I'll gladly pay my $6. [alert admin]

Dear Matsoi: Perhaps you should tell all software developers when you'd like them to release an update. That would make this whole update thing a lot simpler, huh?

Let's not forget that Bridge is a first generation product. Let's also not forget that Adobe is going out on a bit of a limb by releasing a public beta. Let's lastly not forget that this is a public beta and not the final product.

Isn't this already built into the application? ![]()

I only wish InDesign's built-in Preflight function did as much as this thorough and reasonably priced product. Until then, I highly recommend InPreflight as a welcome solution.

"… it's a great idea with lots of potential." For now the aggravation of using Art Files is worse than collecting things manually. Until v.1 is released I, too, will withold further comments ! Scott
