Opera 9.0 Beta Build 8501 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
I updated from Oper 8 to 9 and now do not have any default text on the menu bar, any of the pull down menus, or in dialog boxes. Wow. I'm flying blind. [alert admin]

VueScan 8.0.8 (Mac OS X)
When scanning a document to print and selecting more than one copy, I find that VueScan generates multiple print jobs with the selected number of copies in each job (e.g., if I select 3 copies, VueScan generates 3 print jobs with 3 copies each, causing 9 copies to be printed). The work around is to open the print monitor and delete all but one of the print jobs. Even with this annoyance, VueScan is a great application. [alert admin]

Intellisync 5.11 (Palm OS)
This does so much of what I need to sync between Outlook and my Palm. Works fine for email. Works kind of ok for calendar. It doesn't correctly include the meeting location, however. This tends to be a rather significant omission. I haven't found an option to change this. And, what's with all of the network activity with the trial version? Every time I sync, it attempts a network connection for each conduit (email, calendar, to do). Even when I don't sync, it makes netowrk connection attempts from time to tiem (at least every two hours). [alert admin]

Easy Card 2.2.1 (Mac OS X)
One very annoying "feature" of Easy Card is it's insistence on creating and using a folder titled "Easy Card" in the user's ~ directory. If you move it to the ~/Documents folder, Easy Card will create a new folder in the ~ directory. Other than this, it's a very capable program. If the author would resolve this issue, I'd use it more often and pay the fee. [alert admin]

PocketBackup 1.12 (Mac OS X)
first try -- backing up my OS X drive to an external drive. Setup was pretty easy. The major problem is that the program repeatedly requests my admin password. It should retain it for the complete backup. With this problem, I cannot start a backup and leave it alone. It forces me to stay at the computer during the entire run. [alert admin]
