Flurry 1.1.1 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
screensaver. It's beautiful, it's free - and it's available for Mac as well :-) The only problem is that while on my old 400 MHz G4 Mac this is fast and smooth, the Windows version (PIV/3k) is just mindboggeling slow. Well, in this particular case that's not too bad (still looks great, but a pitty it is. [alert admin]

KDX 1.600 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
This is one of the products where I am really split. On one side, many very nice, very creative features, on the other side this extremely poor interface, which completely ignores ANY standards and conventions. As ingenious the programmers were with the programming, as ignorant they are when it comes to GUI design. What a pitty! [alert admin]

... for power users - a ticking time bomb in the hands of the unexperienced, though... [alert admin]

OK, it's not particularly the most stable application I have ever tried, but I see some potential behind the concept. Maybe the develper should try to modularize the project and focus on less protocols, which are more suitable together (like, what does a POP3-client have to do with a hotline clone?) I'll give it 5 stars, not because it's really worth 5, but to compensate the stupid (and false!) reviews of this other guy here. I think, the resulting 2,5 stars should be the right evaluation - with a possibility to improve :-) [alert admin]

Gaichu 1.1 (Mac OS X)
It's nicely done, it looks neat - and it's free. That's more than you can say about most commercial games. Five stars from me! [alert admin]

iTunes Bar 1.5.2 (Mac OS X)

America's Army: Special Forces 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Propaganda - or just plain stupid? ![]()

OK, I don't like this braindead kind of games anyway, but ow much more disgust does it raise in me if it has such an annoying title as this one. An american game producer might not understand that its army (and the most part of it's foreign policy for that matter) is not perceived positively in the rest of the world. Yes, there will be people who will buy (and play) games like this, but these are the same who play "Medal of Honour" - Nazi-Games, we call the latter, and "America's Army" is on the same level. CDex 1.51 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
this little gem ripps my CDs to Ogg list the way it should be. For MP3s, better use iTunes, but for Ogg there's nothing better! [alert admin]

Can we have this for TV programs, please!
Great idea, and those who don't like it certainly miss a good sense of humor and will go to hell for it! BTW: yes, communism is a kind of religion, just as kapitalism, thatcherism and macintosh-ism. Hey, that gives me an idea: how about a "thatcherism-option"... can't wait to try this ;-) [alert admin]

<sarkasm>What point does it make to use a Macintosh now that there already is WindowsXP?</sarkasm> Amar's Toolkit is very powerful and reliable. No doubt about it. However, for my (own) purposes I found it a bit bloated and implementation a sheer overkill. For example, XMLToolkit consists of no less than 10 classes plus one interface plus one module. RealXML is one class, one interface and one module -- and it's a lot easier to implement. If you…

I'm a RB user since the time when it was still called "CrossBasic", and I followed the development quite closely. Yes, there are bugs in RB (as with any other complex software), and yes, there are bugs which are there since several versions. So much for that. On the other hand, I know no other development tool (on the Mac or otherwise), which allows you to create professional applications in such a short time - learning-wise…
