CrossOver Games 8.1 (Mac OS X)
Being a modest gamer I bought this to run on my Mac Pro. So far I have been unable to load and play a single PC game without issues. Not least of which was speed when finally getting a game to install and load. So, I bought a 1TB Samsung HDD for £46.00 and a copy of Vista Ultimate 64Bit (Full legit version) for £10.00 off eBay and relegated CrossOver to the Trash. [alert admin]

No one answers tech support e-mails, their Blogs haven't been updated in over a year. And many of their products are reputedly failing under Snow Leopard. KEEP WELL AWAY. No fine stars till they get back on board and support their customers. [alert admin]

1Password 2.9.31 (Mac OS X)
Why not use PasswordVault Lite?
The competent coding of PasswordVault does not require daily updates (is 1Password ever out of beta?), has a plethora of features and top-notch encryption. Importantly, it works across most platforms and all browsers. Take look at it in action here: http://www.lavasoftware.com/videos/PasswordVaultDemo/PasswordVaultDemo.html and download from their site or from here: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16082 [alert admin]

Semulov 1.3 (Mac OS X)
Download Link takes you to 1.4
The linked version here is 1.4b1 (which is far more stable than 1.3) Haven't hit any bugs with it yet in Leopard 10.5.7. An elegant little Menu Item. Would like to see Kevin Wojniak add a preference to auto unmount selected volumes at boot option. This would make it indispensable. [alert admin]

Postbox 1.0 beta 13 (Mac OS X)
This mail application is everything Mail.app isn't and that is it's good. Bleedin' good. I can't imagine why I haven't heard or read more about it. Probably because it's still beta (but then mail is alpha in comparison). The user interface features are brilliant I particularly like Search by contact. I've only dipped my toe into this e-mail (and Newsreader and RSS) and the temperature is warm. Seems like the Dev's are very hot on improving it with amazingly regular updates and fixes. One to watch...SERIOUSLY. [alert admin]

EyeTV 3.1.2 (Mac OS X)
Picture adjustment? Forget it!
EyeTV certainly is a fantastic TV recording/playback, app better than anything I've seen or used on Windows. But...and it is a big but...Why no graphics controls? I cannot adjust Brightness/Contrast/Hue/Saturation in EyeTV. This app has been years in development and we still have no basic control of broadcast picture quality. Some programmes are very dark, some bright, I have to use third party brightness and Gamma control apps to attempt adjustment which is pathetic given EyeTV is a video playback app. VLC can do this stuff... QuickTime, too. It's a basic requirement for video playback. No two programme makers/broadcasters transmit exactly the same brightness and contrast ratios, so, please Elgato, give us the controls to make these adjustments for ourselves without having to fall back on third part apps for Brightness Control. http://www.versiontracker.com/php/qs.php?mode=basic&action=search&str=brightness+control&srchArea=macosx&submit=Go [alert admin]

Album Art iMagethon 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Bit of a fiddle and currently a one-trick pony...But worth it for nowt. Here's hoping the developer(s) add a few twists, tumbles and turns. Might jiggle the core animation script myself. [alert admin]

Firewall is the death of this application
EyeTV 3.2 works perfectly with the firewall turned on or off. You need to follow Elgato's instructions fully in order to allow two way traffic. Go here for the low down on how to enable EyeTV on your LAN: http://support.elgato.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=2418 and here if you want to connect via iPhone: http://support.elgato.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=3651&nav=0,1&languageid=1&group=englishdefault

Why not use PasswordVault Lite?
You love your Bolds and exclamation marks. Stop shouting, you'll hurt your throat. I have nothing to do with the PasswordVault Lite coders. Have you used the app? It integrates with all the browsers I use on OSX SL and I can import all my Paswordvault Lite data into Bootcamp browsers with a couple of clicks. + it's free.

I have sorted the problem by deleting all my account library preferences files (for all users) together with the EyeTV app and all support files. Then I did a fresh EyeTV install and set-up tuning the 400/410 first and then pressing "back"wards on the set-up assistant and changing the device to Terratec then tuning that device separately. Quite a long-winded procedure I have never had to do before. Still can't get UKTV History though :(

Since you seem incapable of being anything other than rude and personal, and as you cannot fathom how Apple have buggered up CoverFlow, tell me... [A] How do you search for an artist/CD via Apple iTunes CoverFlow? [B] How do you add artwork? Elegantly! (Not via the poxy paste one by one "Get Info" route that's lame) There's no simple contextual cut/copy/paste [*] How do you go to fullscreen mode and browse that way. To my mind Apple have…

Well, with CoverFlow (you are aware of this app?) one could right-click on the LP/CD cover image and do an Amazon/internet search or cut copy paste. Apple do not provide that functionality now they have built CoverFlow into iTunes 7. Your lovely app does locate more cover artwork than the Apple iTunes site. But I still have no quick/simple way of adding artwork with iTunes or GimmeSomeTune; I have to open the iTunes (cd) info…

I wasn't aware any browser passed the Acid 2 test yet. But Safari is very close. The AT2 smiley looks better with Safari on Mac than anything on my PC. And Safari now renders far quicker on my Dual 1.42 G4 than Mozilla Firefox does on my AMD 64X2 4800+ with an nVidia GeForce7800 GTX... Go figure!
