Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 7.0.1 (Mac OS X)

problems and solutions

The infamous "BounceThenQuit" and "EnterYourAdminPassword" problems are known problems and Macromedia has a solution: go to this page http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_18933 and download the hotfix DMG. It Works [alert admin]

Mozilla Firefox 1.0 (Mac OS X)

ARGH

that is FAR FROM PERFECT browser. It doesn't handle JavaScripts correctly, nor the SWF (Flash Files). Some flash sites has obliged me to force-quit this app. Some CSS are distorted. The whole interface is a big nothing… IE is even better than that ! I'm going back to safari. It works, at least. [alert admin]

Azureus BitTorrent Client 2.2.0.0 (Mac OS X)

Open the Actiivty Monitor before launching Azureus…

…if you want to try this app. With so much of kernel panics described before, I took some precautions. Wgen launched he icon of the dock is completely different from that of the application. And Azureus then the finder start to have an erratic behavior. -alt-ESC. I try to quit Azureus. It doesn't work: The azureus window is still opened. With the "activity monitor", I see that the finder do not answer any more. Then the SystemUIServer. I had to kill the processes one by one in the activity monitor to avoid a kernel panic. Sorry to say that, but Azureus seems to me a little… immature. The developpers have a lot if work to do before this application becomes interesting. Quicksiver PMac 867MHz Monoprocessor 1.12 Gb RAM 2x80 Gb HDD ~~~ apologies for my bad english ~~~ [alert admin]

a comment/review on the hardware, not the software

You bought some hardware guaranteed for a certain period. And the product fails 4 months after the end of this period. Too bad, but all the guarantees have an end. I like this kind of the type for which all is never enough. If it was a "1 year guarantee", will you harass people because the product failed after 2 years? If you don't accept the rules, don't play!
