SpiralBound Pro 1.0 (Mac OS X)
So I have been a Spiral Bound convert for some time. I love the basic stickies architecture and thing that ascetically SB improves on it in all the right ways. The "notebook" analog is the logical extension of the stickies model and really help keep things organized. The only thing that I felt was missing in the original SB was the ability to have more than one notebook. I pass this on to the developer and he responded very promptly! I thought it was pretty neat that he was so accessible and so responsive to suggestions. Sure enough, in this version I can have as many notebooks as my hear desires. So cool. Also, since I am pretty lazy, I like to keep semi-sensitive information in my stickies. Passwords, etc. The fact that SB has a smart password protection feature is very reassuring, especially since my work computer is in a high traffic cubicle area. These aren't the only improvements of SB over standard stickies but I think that these alone are well worth the price. The other features are just frosting. Two thumbs up. [alert admin]

SpiralBound 1.0 (Mac OS X)
This is a basic replacement to the ubiquitous stickies program on every mac. It keeps with the physical analogy that stickies started with post-it notes but chooses a slightly different physical object to represent, a spiral bound notebook. This approach seems to keep all the original functionality of stickies but adds, I think, improved organization. Now new notes start in a notebook but you can rip off a page and stick it anywhere you want stickies style. Interesting rethink of a classic which you might find you prefer to the original. Beyond, the new notebook design there were a couple of features that I have long thought have been missing from stickies. If you are like me, you probably keep way too many passwords and other sensitive information in your stickies. Not smart on my part but stickies is so darn convenient for this purpose! SpiralBound has a simple security interface that will block out all the text on a sensitive note. It also has a better find function than the basic stickies, capable of searching all the note windows you have, unlike basic stickies, which only will search the open window. (That has always killed me!) Good rethink of a classic. [alert admin]

Medical School Interviewer 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Bones:"Damn it Jim, I'm a doctor not a proof reader!" ... at least I'd like to be, Bones on Star Trek that is. That way I'd have had the best seat in the house for Shatner's oddly mesmerizing thespian stylings. Sadly I lost my ability to spell about the same time I took quantum mechanics during my undergrad physics studies. There just wasn't enough room in my brain. Something had to go. [alert admin]

Poker Odds Calculator 1.1 (Mac OS X)
I would like to thank all who have taken the time to post comments on this program. Since the last comment this program (regarding v 1.0) has undergone 4 updates and is now at v 1.1. The interface has been made much more intuitive by adding a card selecting window which is activated by left click on a card. This is the ONLY program that I have ever seen, on Mac or PC, which calculates odds for Omaha Hi-Lo, a game in which figuring out odds is far from intuitive. It also handles the extremely popular Texas Hold'em. The last commenter wined that the program isn't free before taking some unnecessary personal pot shots. Wouldn't it be nice if everything was free, Jack, however I have not priced this out of anyone pocket book. At just $5 it cost just a fraction of an average poker pot. If it helps you improve your understanding of Hold'em or Stud or Hi-Lo it may pay for itself many times over in your first hour of gambling. Regardless, those comments were made about a much less polished program than the current release. I have received an extremely positive response from this program and hope that many more people continue to find it useful. Thanks [alert admin]

I used sidenote before and it is a good little app. For a while it was my sticikes replacement but I found it frustrating intrusive as the window it had a tendency to pop up unexpected and unwanted when I was using another app. Similarly, while you are using sidenote I found that the window would often zip off screen unexpected. I'm sure it is a good solution for some but…
