Apple iMac ATI Radeon 2600/2400 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Please read which cards the update is for

All those who complain that the update will not install on their machines, please read which cards the update is for. The update is for the ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro or ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT and NOT for the ATI Radeon HD 2600 or ATI Radeon HD 2400. [alert admin]

Works as described. Nice simple timesaver, no more digging in the Preferences folder. [alert admin]

Macromedia Shockwave Player 11.0.0.429 (Mac OS X)

Now Universal !

Still the same version, but now Universal Binary. (The link above still instructs Intel users to launch their browser in Rosetta first.) Download Shockwave 11 installer from this page: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp Or download the full installer directly with this link: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/default/english/macosx/latest/Shockwave_Installer_Full.dmg [alert admin]

JAW PseudoAnacron 1.5 (Mac OS X)

Still needed in Leopard?

Isn't it so that utilities like Anacron and PseudoAnacron are not needed anymore in Leopard because in Leopard launchd will run skipped jobs? [alert admin]

iSnip 1.4 (Mac OS X)

Correction: Full URL works

The full URL does work: http://www.davedelong.com/isnip2/index.shtml Maybe an URLs like http://www.davedelong.com/isnip2 does not work anymore because domain and site have been moved to a different host that does not recognize "index.shtml" as a index page? The host also does not recognize the .dmg file as a file to be downloaded and not to be displayed as text in the browser window. [alert admin]

iSnip 1.4 (Mac OS X)

developer website removed

Well, not all of the website is gone, but the www.davedelong.com and /www.davedelong.com/isnip2/ index pages have been removed. Good sign or bad sign? [alert admin]

Flip4Mac WMV 2.1.3.10 (Mac OS X)

Not a new version

This version 2.1.3.10 is around for over two months, I installed it in October. (Maybe the error "nothing to install" that some see, simply means that this version is already installed or that one of the later 2.2 beta versions is installed.) [alert admin]

VNCDimension 0.7.10 (Mac OS X)

Still works fine in Mac OS X 10.4.10 on Intel Mac

I use VNCDimension to control my music server (Hifidelio with a Linux derived system). Apart from being fast and simple to use, so far it has been the only one of available freeware and shareware VNC clients that controls all needed functions. I am delighted that I can still use it on my new (Summer 2007 aluminium) 20" iMac, fast and simple as before. [alert admin]

iSnip 1.4 (Mac OS X)

iSnip development continued again?

Dave, I write this on VersionTracker and in an old(?) iSnip FAQ blog, because I do not know how else to reach you. I suppose you can devote some time again to more worldly businesses, like continued development of iSnip. I very much hope you will at least make iSnip fully functional on Intel Macs. Recently I migrated from a PowerBook G4 to a new 20" iMac, both with OSX 10.4.10. On the iMac most iSnip functions work, like managing snippets, creating snippets from clipboard, pasting snippets. But the function that I used most, the clipboard history does not work anymore. I tried a few other similar applications (like iPaste), but they cannot replace iSnip for me. I do not need or want rich text or images saved, I want the simple and elegant iSnip saving text snippets only. (If you would add features to a iSnip2, I hope you make those optional.) Will you provide a Intel compatible iSnip with the clipboard history restored? Ronald. [alert admin]

Adobe pretending iPhoto does not exist?

Better search iPhoto Help and use the feature in iPhoto to choose the preferred external application for editing your photos in Elements directly from iPhoto.

Still needed... Indeed !

A very informative article, thanks. I checked on my PowerBook G4 on which I did a clean install of Leopard in January. The daily script did run weeks ago for the last time and the weekly and monthly scripts had not run at all since the system was installed.

Memory Issue ? Never seen it.

I have have been using iSnip on several Macs, with 10.3.x and with 10.4.x. iSnip is in my Login Items and I never quit it, but I do clear the clipboard history when no longer needed. I have never seen memory issues. What do you mean with "each process"? (Regrettably, the clipboard history feature of iSnip 1.4 does not work anymore on Intel and I understand that iSnip 1.4 does not work at all in Leopard. Dave…

Can't get it to work...

I reported this problem to the developer and he fixed what he called "this rather embarrassing mistake of mine" in version 1.4.1.

No problems here

Copied 1.2.7 over and removed 1.2.6 * No problems here using version 1.2.7 with iPhoto 6.0.6 and MacOSX 10.4.10. I did not need to remove preferences. * Note that the file names may appear identical in the Finder, while in fact they are not. Version 1.2.6 is named "iPhoto Buddy" and 1.2.7 is named "iPhoto Buddy.app". So, copying 1.2.7 to the same location as 1.2.6 will not replace 1.2.6.

The download from www.real.com is also the old version

I downloaded the free player following the link on www.real.com and using the German download location and it is the exact same build 412 that I installed a year ago.
