Xslimmer 1.7.4 (Mac OS X)

This is NOT shareware!

This is trialware – NOT shareware: until you pay US $ 14,95 you can free up only 50MB! App developers like that can go scru themselves, afaic. [alert admin]

Voila 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Misrepresentation

This is NOT Shareware, it is Trialware. Of a fully commercial application. And a very expensive one at that. Which puts those 'jubilant' comments in an entirely different light. I don't like sneaky buggers. [alert admin]

Snapplr 1.0.4 (Mac OS X)

Basically flawed

...because it presumes a live internet connection at all times, and doesn't work without one. This is a SERVICE, of no value unless connected, it is NOT a software product. [alert admin]

Lockdown 1.0.6 (Mac OS X)

Doesn't work on OSX.5.6 !

Doesn't work on OSX.5.6 ! Even with all sensors enabled as triggers nothing makes the siren go off. Shaking the MBP, or tapping the keyboard, or the trackpad, or whatever. Nothing! I'm going back to iAlertU. Been using it for 2 years now. Works like a charm. Excellent if you need to step out to get a cup of coffee, or to go to the bathroom, etc. Whenever I am in a new place I demo the siren before I step out for the first time so that everybody within 60 to a 100 feet clearly gets the message. And it works, putting the fear of God in anyone around, because my MBPs have NEVER been stolen, nor has the siren even been 'accidentally' set off. Get iAlertU here: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10577703 [alert admin]

Screen Movie Recorder 3.1 (Mac OS X)

Totally useless: GINORMOUS files, NO sound, 1fps

Save yourself the trouble and go find a screen video recorder that DOES work. [alert admin]

Encrypt This 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Into the Trash can

When I drop a file or folder on Encrypt I get this fantastic message http://tinyurl.com/66sdnu OR I get a panel asking for a password and a verification, which I duly fill out, click OK. Then the panel disappears, and the B/W propellor cursor appears... indefinitely. But static, not turning. I.o.w. it hangs, and requires a Force Quit to get out of. But that's all. Nothing else happens. The file or folder is still as accessible as it was before. No panels asking for passwords or anything. Zilch! This is on OSX.5.4 Looks like an Alpha 'release' to me. Using Joe Public as guinea pigs... [alert admin]

BetterZip 1.7.1 (Mac OS X)

This is NOT shareware!

That's a croc! This is a plain commercial product with a free trial period (30 days) whereafter its features will be severely curtailed (who knows, maybe you won't even be able to get at your own encrypted files anymore... how's that for arm twisting to buy, eh?). At the very least this is 'crippleware'. I don't trust liars. Especially not with encryption! [alert admin]
