Lottery Cracker 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Before all you ranters go on about the worthlessness of this software, let me say this: there ARE people who study lottery numbers and their skews. Yes, there ARE skews in lottery numbers that DO show over time. Why? Physical properties in the balls - including microscopic size and weight differences, paint thickness, shape abnormalities - over time these skews show up. Some numbers are "hot" numbers", and others are "cold". As well, there are time factors that people study - for instance when a "hot" number doesn't show for a long time, perhaps it's due? People "wheel" these numbers for their picks. This is not to say that one has any REAL chance of winning the lottery; the chances are infinitesimally small. But, it's a statistical analysis that makes lottery playing more fun for people that follow these skews. The developer seems to be putting together a nice bit of software that allows people to graph these trends, etc. That's all. The price may be a little steep, since it's only v.1.0, but it's work and there are NOT alot of Mac alternatives out there. So read about lottery numbers, skews, and wheels before simply ranting about this software. Maybe you'll try it and have more fun next time you drop a buck on a ticket. [alert admin]

AOL Desktop Beta 11 (Mac OS X)
AAPL is UP UP UP, TWX is DOWN DOWN DOWN.
That says it all. You'd think AOL would "read the tea leaves" and try to woo more Apple customers to their service, but they don't foresee trends. [alert admin]

Eudora 8.0.0b3 (Mac OS X)
It is nothing like classic Eudora and I agree with others that it shouldn't be using the Eudora label. [alert admin]

You Control: Tunes 1.6 (Mac OS X)
This app is the best! Controls your iTunes from the menubar with awesome dropdown menus that display your entire iTunes library (including artwork)! No more having to hide/unhide iTunes to change music or view your library, playlists, etc...just simple scrolling down from the menubar. And, it's free (thank you developer)!!! (OS 10.4.11) [alert admin]

More like Thunderbird than Classic Eudora
This product seems to be Thunderbird using Eudora icons only. It's nothing like the classic Eudora 6.2.4 which I am using. I realize that Qualcomm dropped the ball, but what we classic Eudora users were hoping is that the open-source community would continue to develop Eudora as it always has been, rather than making a tweaked version of Thunderbird. Apple iTunes 7.3.1 (Mac OS X)
After updating ITunes to 7.3.1, the first synch with my iPod had to re-upload my entire library to the unit. Terrific, if you have 3 hours to sit around for the iPod to update all the files, which is about what it took. [alert admin]

Emailchemy 1.9.1 (Mac OS X)
This app is an excellent solution for anyone who wants to convert their Eudora e-mail to another client. I can't speak for other e-mail apps, but it worked _flawlessly_ for me with Eudora...all my mailboxes and e-mails converted into AppleMail (thousands of e-mails and attachments!)...yes, the attachments come along with the e-mails. Finally, a product that converts my DVD to iPod format without jumping through hoops. Very nice interface, even lets you "trim the fat" on a DVD before converting it. Fast, too. As long as I give it full attention of my processor (DP-G4), it doesn't crash before completion, like every other application I've tried. Thumbs up! [alert admin]

Excuse me, but I PAY for AOL service. The "upgrades" for Mac users have been, virtually, non-existent. I suppose you wouldn't mind PAYING for long distance telephone service but only be given a morse-code machine to use? I _do_ my job, I expect AOL developers to _do_ theirs. They certainly don't discount Mac users.

Statistics are useless for Lottery balls ![]()

Actually, you're wrong. Lottery numbers can be studied. The fact that the balls are physical objects, with imperfections, creates skews that can be watched over time. For instance, a number may be thicker in paint, balls are microscopically dissimilar in size and shape, which creates these skews. Over time, what are called "hot" numbers and "cold" numbers will show themselves. There are also time-factors involved in the studying of these…

Actually, I find that you posted this quite useful. VersionTracker only lists the upgrade cost without a qualifier; namely, that the $49.95 is for an upgrade from v.3 to v.4. That you posted this comment enlightened me to the fact that the upgrade is free to v.4 owners. So thanks because I wouldn't have realized this.

Look, I'm not a developer and don't know the nuances of code, etc., but I've been using Eudora for 15 years and this product is nothing like the classic Eudora. As I mentioned, I know Qualcomm dropped the ball but many classic Eudora users don't want to switch to a tweaked Thunderbird model and were hoping for a real continuation (not a conversion).

I agree. I gave 5-stars to v. 2.4, because it was simple and quick. Now I don't use it anymore because it's turned into "bloatware", for want of a better term, and takes a _much_ longer time to load at startup. As well, when you look at the system log, because of this long loading process, there are numerous errors attributed to the app. Simpler was better.
