SOHO Organizer 5.7.0b2 (Mac OS X)
Great New Version With The Bugs Worked Out 
This is a terrific new universal binary version of SOHO Organizer, with the quirks worked out and with super integration with iCal, address book, and .Mac. I did a one month comparison with Now Up To Date (latest version is from 2005, so not so Up to Date at all), and Organizer was the hands down winner for ease of use, integration and breadth of function. If you were a victim of the earlier versions, don't be afraid to give the 1 month free trial a go. You will be very pleasantly surprised. A lot of reviewers have recommended Devon Pro as an alternative, but this is an apples to oranges comparison. Organizer is primarily a contact and schedule manager. Devon Pro is great at data collection and organization. Both excellent programs, but with a bit different purposes. I use both of them. [alert admin]

Adobe Reader 6.0 (Mac OS X)
Well I have always thought that Adobe distributing the various versions of Reader for free is pretty nifty. I have had no problems at all with Reader 6.0 on several different machines, and I am thankful for the free upgrade. I have not found this version to be any slower or more fastidious than the previous, (mostly use on a 1 Ghz DP G4 with 1.5 Ghz Ram). Sure seems like there is a lot of critisism of version 6 in the reviews. As is always the case, looks to me like the most venemous critisism comes from the most novice of users. As my dad used to say, "if all else fails, read the directions", and "don't look a gift horse in the mouth". Unfortunately, a few Version Tracker reviewers have a level of confidence which seems to greatly exceed their OS X literacy. Many of the so called "problems" in the reviews are clearly the result of operator error. It is very easy to blame the software when the real problem is us. Just my opinion, which I am sure will generate plenty of rants. [alert admin]
