Mathusalem 1.2 (Mac OS X)
Nice utility but has a very serious issue ![]()

This is a very promising software with convenient functionalities and ease of use, but it has a very serious - and I mean SERIOUS - issue as of version 1.2. This issue is indicated only as a "limitation" of the developer's site: "The initial backup requires as much extra space on the boot volume as the total size of the data being backed up". And what they do not say is that it can saturate your boot volume in a snap, covering your screen with litterally hundreds of error messages. Your only option is to kill the process and navigate to a invisible folder to delete its temporary files to get your disk space back (which is in /private/var/folders/ in case you desperately need it). A very bad user experience indeed... I really hope they will soon fix this issue as I need this type of software because Time Machine cannot backup to a NAS server... But as of version 1.2 it is useless. [alert admin]

Raptor 1.0.0 (Mac OS X)
Unless I missed something, this app only does what you can do yourself: 1) Do a Google search, 2) Open Rapidshare pages using the URLs that you have first to copy/paste. Completely useless for me... [alert admin]

PasswordWallet for OS X & iPhone 4.3.2 (Mac OS X)
PasswordWallet syncs like magic with the iPhone! The iPhone doesn't need to be jailbreaked. Very good idea and very good implementation. I love this software! I'm happy I paid for it. [alert admin]

Foxfire 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Works well on my Mac and it's a very nice screensaver. The speed setting is not logical : the lower the value the faster the speed... [alert admin]

I've used Galerie to generate my galleries since version 4.1 and the new version 5.0 is even more powerful and yet so easy to use. And it gives perfect results. A must have for anyone wanting to share pictures on the Web. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X 10.3.8 (Mac OS X)
The audio bug that Apple introduced with 10.3.6 update has still not been fixed in 10.3.8. This bug causes heavy distorted audio on PowerMac G4 MDD. The workaround is to plug/unplug phones in the headphones port. And I find it VERY annoying to have to do that after EACH restart... [alert admin]

DivX 5.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Version 5.1 doesn't uninstall 5.0x components. After the next reboot, bad things happen such as applications unexpectedly quitting at launch. You have to manually remove the components. [alert admin]

is absolutely not a standard Palm conduit. It uninstalls several conduits (Address and Datebook for example). Actually it moves them in a "Disabled Conduits" folder. And it's a pity that it doesn't even have the standard preferences such as "Handheld overwrites Macintosh" etc. [alert admin]

Symantec Norton Utilities 7.0.3 (Mac OS X)
the update : Norton Antivirus says it needs to update its definitions file, but LiveUpdate says there's no new file and only re-applies the 7.0.3 update. Sigh... [alert admin]
