Star 1.1 (Mac OS X)
The one-line description is incredibly uninformative. Had to read the description to learn what the program does, and even then not until like the third of fourth sentence. [alert admin]

MacVCD X 4.5.3 (Mac OS X)
They're still using the 5-minute trial time? How ridiculous. VLC and mplayer is all you need. [alert admin]

Is the action supposed to be so fast that you can't really control anything and battles last for less than 30 seconds? [alert admin]

Ugly graphics, childish interface, and a complete ripoff of "Wheel of Fortune" make this a sad addition to my hard drive. Like drinking sour milk, the taste of this program still lingers in my mouth. [alert admin]

TeamSpeex 1.0b1 (Mac OS X)
Someone do the same for Ventrilo!
If only my WoW guild used TeamSpeak... but alas, they use Ventrilo. I am glad someone is making a Mac client for TS. I hope that someone else will do the same for Vent. [alert admin]

Adium X 0.84 (Mac OS X)
I used Adium to handle basic text messaging with several of my other IM accounts. Lately I've just stuck with iChat and hop onto Y!IM if I want to chat with the few folks I know who insist on using it. With the introduction of Google Talk I downloaded 0.83 and gave it a shot. Beautiful interface, fantastic customization, and it handles my multiple accounts just fine. I haven't tried to send/receive files, but for the most part I don't use IM apps to send/receive files; I use them to message other people who are online. For it's primary purpose, Adium is hard to beat. It's worlds better than Yahoo!"s fossil of a Mac version - although I still have to run it if I want to video chat with someone. But for now, it will be my primary IM app. [alert admin]

LimeWire X 4.2.2 (Mac OS X)
I wish I knew why this was "highlighted" by VersionTracker. Compared to Acquisition, Poisioned, or even eDonkey, this app is just sad. [alert admin]

Colloquy 2C10 (Mac OS X)
I am very impressed with Colloquy. It has the right balance of Mac integration and candy-colored beauty. I can tone it down to a Snak or Ircle level of geegaws and still have my passwords for nick servers stored in my Keychain. This may be the first IRC client to get me to break the habit of chatting in fixed-width fonts. I haven't tried silc yet, but I'm glad to have the ability in a nice GUI-enabled program. [alert admin]

Bubble Shooter 1.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
VERY non-Mac-like interface. Annoying hassleware with pop-up window every minute you're playing. There are many other games like this out there (Snood comes to mind). I'd avoid this one. [alert admin]

Second Life 1.4.11 (Mac OS X)
On a dual 1.8Ghz G5 with stock graphics card I am getting crappy fps with this thing. Windows users on the same server get something like 30fps while I'm getting 6fps. This machine kicks arse playing Halo and UT2K4, but it grinds and clunks along with SL. No thanks. [alert admin]

Why not just use QuickTime to view them? I use QT for .mov and .mp4 files, and VLC for pretty much everything else.

Taken from http://forum.firmware-flash.com/viewtopic.php?t=7306 As a lot of people don't seem to be aware, patching your drive with a region free firmware is only one half of the trick to be completely region free. For there are also some region settings WITHIN the software, that need to be bypassed. There can actually be 3 region protections on a system: - 1 in the DVD drive - 1 in the OS - 1 in the software player When you…

It depends on what you're looking for. I'm glad there's ANY kind of KaZaA/FT client for the Mac, since there appears that there'll never be an official one.

E-mail support? I want an IM client, not an AOL "You've Got Mail!" alert. Ticker/news support? I want an IM client, not some corporate-created news "ticker". Linking iChat and Address Book has never "crapped up" things for me. It's somewhat convenient to have all that info in one place and have it accessed by multiple programs. Go back to your day job - which I'm assuming is working for AOL.
