OnSync 1.9.1 (Mac OS X)
The program is looking nice, but: - when connected with Bluetooth, the phone is disconnected, apparently by the program (not File Exchange, or GSM Remote, or any other applet used with Bluetooth, like iSync — which I hate). - need to connect the phone with provided USB cable to make it work with OnSync. - OnSync shows vCards both on Mac 10.3.9 and Motorola v3, but you CANNOT edit any one of them to synchronize the machines to one another. Shoudln't it allow typing and/or correcting entries...? I paid for the program, but I'm a bit disappointed with it. Not that there is anything really better "out there". [alert admin]

PodWorks 2.8.3 (Mac OS X)
Really nice app, which brings support for multiple iPods. That is nice if you have his and hers, or his and his, or hers and hers — whatever. What I'd like to see is a way of copying from iPod to iPod directly, bypassing the need to copy to iTunes first and then only to the second iPod.
Since we have the "multiple iPod" feature already, why not give it a try? [alert admin]

iPodDownload 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Does anybody have an idea how to update iPodDownload to make it work with iTunes 4.7.1...? I forgot there was a problem in the first place and I update my app a little carelessly, considering Apple (silly) politics.
Apparently the solution provided by zigziggityzoo last November doesn't work with 4.7.1.
Any kind of help appreciated. Thanks. [alert admin]

iSurf Beta 1.4 (Mac OS X)
Big future in a tiny app, hopefully
This app weighs only 712 KB when expanded vs. a huge 45,5 MB for Mozilla (which I admit I like). And it works fine, and even plays large streaming Quicktime movies — flawlessly. Now I know hard disks are getting bigger and bigger, but how about "small is beautiful"...? [alert admin]

GSM Remote 1.2.9 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Versatile (phonebook backup or SMS send) and efficient (quick and easy) program. Plus : *VERY* good support by Alexander Traud in person. [alert admin]

Acquisition 114.1 (Mac OS X)
I'm truly suprised by the very negative remarks I read here about this program. I bought a license for it some months ago, so I don't suffer from the inconvenience of nagging browser windows. But the reason why I paid for it is that it is a robust program that does what it is supposed to do the way it is supposed to do it. Plus the interface is relatively nice, or at least "popular". Of course I haven't noticed much about resources being monopolized by "Acquisition", unless you refer to bandwidth, which seems natural. And I just tried to use "Acqlite" to compare it to "Acquisition", only it says it requires Java 1.4.1 and that I should upgrade — but I'm already on 1.4.2 and it doesn't seem to "see" it. On the whole, I believe we should show more fairness to D.W., whatever his "studentish" behaviour may be. After all, he IS a student, isn't he...? [alert admin]

Emailchemy 1.5.8 (Mac OS X)
This software may be able to convert ENGLISH text from almost any mail application to almost any other one, but it certainly CANNOT convert french text from Entourage to Eudora. That is : you'll get code instead of accents, which is quite unacceptable for non 7 bit characters users. I guess it is useless to French speaking/writing users. [alert admin]

Sharing iTunes 4.0 (not 4.0.1) library. Tracker not working. Getting either a "Cannot connect to server" message, or "Open Transport error -3168". Great software idea, not very efficient yet... [alert admin]

GSM Remote 1.2.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
carries 94 entries. Whatever the transmission speed between my t39m and GSM Remote, the app will load any number of entries between 62 and 94. Now that's obviously a reliability issue. Nevertheless, the app is easy to use, and provided it is fine tuned, it bears real possibilities. [alert admin]

Keyboard Maestro 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)
others — Program Switcher "then", and Keyboard Maestro "now", have always worked flawlessly. And Michael Kamprath has always proved to be both resourceful and helpful. There's nothing disappointing about the person or the work! [alert admin]

Much of what is said above is inaccurate. 1) Imports as many entries as available (200+ as faras I'm concerned) 2) Handles H(ome) / W(ork) / O(ther) numbers, thus more than one number per person. 3) This obviously HAS Bluetooth connection —otherwise, what's the point discussing the program...? 4) OK. So what...? Personaly I would recommend the program. Very useful, and cheap.

I got 188kB/s on cable. Maybe they've upgraded only the very link between Watsonville, CA and Paris, FR... ;-)
