NeoOffice 3.0 Patch 3 (Mac OS X)

A great product

I needed a solution to replace my older Office Suite and decided to give NeoOffice a try: This product is just excellent, with a nice concept, is fully compatible with all MS.Office files and is stable and ... cheap! Highly recommended. [alert admin]

Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 10.0 (Mac OS X)

Testimonial

I was a great supporter of GoLive. When GoLive became unsupported, i naturaly tried to work with Dreamweaver. There is nothing common between both: GoLive was much more "mac like" than Dreamweaver is. Despite a lot of efforts and goodwill, i have never been able to feel comfortable with DreamWeaver. I did try it three times, removing it each time after a month, then downloading it again saying to myself "this cannot be possible, you MUST work with this". Furthermore, CS4 was crashing on me regularely. So, no way! i gave up. I now work with CODA and WebDNA. [alert admin]

WebDNA Developer Edition 6.2 (Mac OS X)

A great come-back!

WebDNA is the only scripting language that includes a built-in efficient database system, something that neither php, nor asp or coldfusion can offer. With it, we built sophisticated applications for large companies, long before php became popular. Unfortunately, high license pricing killed it and there have been no real competition for php since then. Today, WebDNA is back, for free (first version)! In my opinion, the beauty about WebDNA is that the developement team started with a small set of powerful instructions but refrained from adding more, since the existing commands allowed to build almost anything you can imagine. With 50 to 100 instructions only compared to more than a thousand for php, you can build elegant web applications in surprisingly short time. But above of all, it is fun to use: WebDNA gives me a "mac like" feeling.. :-) [alert admin]
