Skype 2.7.0.49 (Mac OS X)

For a beta...

I've connection problems only when connecting on a social network. In home I've no problem. The incoming connection port accepts only values from 1024 to 65535 (p2p) if they let us change to 80 or 443 that should solve some problems, in my opinion. But, in the end, I like this app. Has many great functions. [alert admin]

Apple iLife '08 (Mac OS X)

Customer satisfaction rankings

I can run the Adobe CS2 (don't have CS3) Apps on a G3. I'm talking about apps such After Effects, GoLive, InDesign, Flash, etc but I can't run a single iLife 08 app even on a G4 I can't run some of them. In my HMO Apple is becoming lazy even forcing other companies to use java (compromising speed) to keep up the step while they try to find a "standard" app development system. Every new version "kills" an older processor. This is what is happening in real life: "Apple, Dell slip in latest customer satisfaction rankings" "Apple and Dell contributed equally to the decline, according to the report, having each dropped 5 percentage points." (article AppleInsider Tuesday, August 14, 2007) [alert admin]

Apple iWork '08 (Mac OS X)

The path

In my HMO Apple is still finding the correct path. The program is good but the requirements are changing to fast. For example iWork 05 works on >G3, iWork 06 works on >G4 (one year difference), iWork 08 works on >G4 latest models (becoming to slow on older G4). The main problem is if I write a document in iWork 08 how can I open and edit it on older machines? Microsoft Office has bugs and it's not so actrative but I can open and edit a Word document on a G3 and on a Intel. If you hate Microsoft you can use NeoOffice. The worst nightmare of someone who writes a report (for example) is to know that it could not be opened by the persones he want. [alert admin]

Apple iLife '08 (Mac OS X)

System Requirements

I can run Final Cut Studio 2 and iDVD on my PPC (2 years old) but can't run iMovie!? What's next? TextEdit minimum requirements Intel 2.5GHz!? Still not possible to export one site at the time with iWeb. I only ask Apple for a little more optimization and more options. [alert admin]

Adobe Creative Suite 3.0 (Mac OS X)

CS2 for ever...

The CS3 apps are slow and huge... For example Macromedia Flash 8 (200mb) and now Adobe Flash CS3 (750mb) plus some useless apps installed all over the system (>800mb). CS2 apps, on PPC, are severeal times faster than CS3. I think the next acquisition is Corel Painter instead of the huge and slow Adobe Photoshop CS3. [alert admin]

Are you working for Apple?

I started working with iMovie 06 which is far simple, less buggy and powerful than this version. Even Apple admitted and you're saying what!?

G4 Macs beware

I agree with v56k. Apple Final Cut 6 and even the huge Adobe Creative Suite CS3 (After Effects) works on G4. There are some "rumors" that say if you install iMovie on a >G5 and copy to your G4 it will work well and fast. The same technique used to install iWeb 06 on a G3. PS: I've tested the Windows Vista on a 28 month old pc and I confirm that works fast and faster with Linux Ubunto.…

RAM usage...

I use a powerbook and macbook pro and I have firefox as my default browser. Like I said, it's a great browser! And it's true that it uses more ram than camino (for example) and it's not native for mac os yet (I hope)! That's just my opinion.

This software needs a lot work to be useable.

I have to remember that this is not a professional app. I just want it to share my software with others. The Help has some basic informations about how to start using this app.
