BLT 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)

No Longer Supported? - Buggy

You must check the links for an entire site. If you try to start in a sub-directory, the application crashes. You cannot use the stop button because the application crashes. The developer does not respond to email or trouble tickets. [alert admin]

Won't even run

Launches. Within a minute it quits unexpectedly. This happens before I even try to do anything! Does this every time. [alert admin]

PlaintextPaste 0.2 (Mac OS X)

No Longer Works

After I installed 10.4.10, this stopped working. Sparkplug now says there are no plugins installed. I uninstalled plaintextpaste (both automatically and manually) and reinstalled it. That didn't help. I miss it. [alert admin]

TexFinder 0.6b (Mac OS X)

Doesn't Work

I dropped a folder containg a website on the icon. Approximately 70 text files, 6 sub-folders and an uncounted number of images. The application launched and sat there with a wris*censored*ch for 01:30 (by the clock). Then it threw up an "Execution Error" dialogue for which the only option was to close or to save my comments to a text file. (Like I needed to keep a copy of my comments.) Nothing useful happened. Since looking for text strings in websites I maintain is my main need for this, it is worse than useless. [alert admin]

EasyEnvelopes 1.0.4 (Mac OS X)

Enhancement Wanted

On thing I wish this product did was automatically set the default in the printer dialog to manual feed. Most of us don't have envelope feeders. To be fair, this is not a major issue. This is a great product overall. [alert admin]

Art Text 1.2 (Mac OS X)

Superb Product

I have never given a product 5 stars before. This one has incredible features. I didn't rate the support or documentation because, in my opinion, you won't need either one. You can create text using any of your installed (Western) fonts, style it in any of over 70 styles, many of which have sub-styles, change the color of the text, background, and shadow, set the angle (separately!) of both the light and the shadow, set the depth of the shadow, add glow, gradients, set the font size AND overall image size, and probably many more things I haven't tried yet. I haven't even tried the buttons and arrows and other icon things yet. And it all renders in less than 5 seconds on my G4 400MHz! Then you just export the resulting image to the clipboard. I can't find anything to complain about or even suggest improvement on. At $30, this thing is a steal. [alert admin]

iXiu 1.3 (Mac OS X)

Buggy - Features don't work

A nice-looking concept, but it doesn't appear ready for release. Documentation says that when you double-click on an object, the object will open in the appropriate application. I couldn't get that to work with a text object copied from AppleWorks. Double-clicking did nothing. It didn't open in anything. I couldn't get the text resize buttons to do anything, nor the transparency buttons. And when I click on the grid button, it both toggles the grid and opens the preferences pane. The comments option is apparently intended as a label for an object but it only works when hovering over the object. For a text link or a URL, you also can't see the contents unless you hover. So you have a collection of objects with no clue what each one contains until you hover over it. Yet the documentation appears to show that each object is labeled on the panel. I can't recomment iXiu at this point. [alert admin]

Crm4Mac 3.0 (Mac OS X)

Oooops?

I don't know if it is me or a bug, but I am now seeing the contact info in the contact detail pane changing to the appropriate person when I select an event. I still would prefer to see it as a hover pop-up in the event window so that the person I selected in the address detail pane doesn't go away, but it is better than what I thought it was doing. Crm4Mac 3.0 (Mac OS X)

A great start, but ....

The concept is a very nice one, and what there is works well. But what is missing makes it more awkward to use than it should be. The first thing I noticed was that you could add people to events by dragging, but there is no way to show their contact info in the event. You must go over to the address pane and find them. Hovering over their name in the event should display their contact info. I couldn't find a way to delete an email from within crm4mac. I highlighted the mail, clicked on the "-", and was able to delete only the reference in crm4mac or all email references for that day. But only the references. The window for reading the email is too small because of all the other panes, but you can't pop a full-screen view of the email without launching (or switching into) Apple Mail. There is no option for displaying events and mail only from today forward unless you change the filter dates every day. All the default filters want to include the past week or month. There is no help. There is no manual. Bottom line? This has the potential to be a great product. And when it gets there, I expect to use it as my main interface and it will be well worth the $50. But it isn't there yet ;-( [alert admin]

A great start, but ....

OK. Yet again, I am wrong. You CAN delete an email from within crm4mac, but it is weird. When you do, all your email for that date disappear for a while, only to come back in 20-30 seconds without the deleted one.
