Yes, iCal and Remind Me both help users plan schedules and alert users to events. Remind Me is much smaller and offers a different approach which you may find easier to use. The summary of appointments, birthdays and anniversaries is a nice feature which some will appreciate.

What a nice review. Thank you. You can add Categories already. Just start the row with "*". For example, a new Category titled "High Energy" would be entered as *High Energy. The software will recognize that you want a new Category and act accordingly. The idea of stretching the Message Maintenance window is interesting and possible and may be included in an update soon. You can adjust the speaking rate (and voice) in System Preferences/Speech/Text to Speech. If you are using Leopard, Alex is an excellent voice but it is fun to try others as well. Paul Young, CSoM

B_I_N_G_O ! Very Cool Free Game !
Version 2.0.0 uses the System Voice using settings of System Preferences/Speech/Text-to-Speech. If you have Leopard, the Alex voice at normal speaking rate is an excellent choice.

Twtwtw, Good point. The display is being driven for the time shown (minimum of 1 ms) but displays are not that fast yet so you get whatever your display rise and fall time provides. You can, however, make the text lighter to make it harder to read. Paul Young, CSoM

The minimum time you can set is ten seconds. After setting the period between sounds and how the sounds are to be selected, the application triggers a sound when the count reaches zero. This application works as described in the Help information. Paul Young, CSoM - Developer
