SeisMac 1.3 (Mac OS X)

Very neat!

Would like two features: 1. ability to sample/display less frequently (cpu intensively) 2. a Dock icon, like Activity Monitor has; or menu item Other than that, it's perfect for the price. [alert admin]

M-Audio Transit USB 1.6.2 (Mac OS X)

driver fails under heavy CPU load

The driver seems to be unstable under heavy CPU load. I am using this Transit USB on a 400 MHz Ti-Book, with fairly clean 10.3.x through 10.4.5 installs. Audio problems are exacerbated by heavy CPU load, but can also happen under a light (< 20% CPU load). At random times it will begin a 1 second loop over and over, adding any sound played to it to the loop. This may happen to record as well, I cannot recall. Usually going into the M-Audio preference pane and changing a setting will fix it, but this time my machine locked up requiring a hard reset. I previously used a Griffin iMic with no problems, and wish I had sprung for an Edirol for my optical interface. [alert admin]

GPSUtility 1.01 (Mac OS X)

minor ui issue, compass suggestion, review

For some reason both the monitor and settings pane slide out on the right side. I cannot grab the resize box to move it to the other side. This means I have to close the monitor pane to see/change the settings. The compass heading changes, sometimes wildly, at very low speeds. This might be minimised by averaging the heading over time, increasing the time interval the slower the speed. At 0-0.2 mph (my current standing still reading) where the position hasn't changed in a while, maybe don't display the compass, grey it out, or do something to note that it isn't very reliable. Otherwise this is very good. I downloaded it to test my USB GPS (Rayming TN-200) before Route 66 arrived, and it meets and exceeds my expectations. This should be included on all Mac compatible GPS CD-ROMs. [alert admin]

Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection 1.0 (Mac OS X)

+4 stars for…

bringing this to MacOS, -3 for stability issues somehow related to typing. It seems that as long as you type slowly enough, you'll be able to type in your entire password; but the faster you type, the more often you'll see "The application RDC has unexpectedly quit." If you don't need "high" encryption and don't apply the Q324380 (MS02-051) patch, I recommend XFree86 + OroborOSX + rdesktop (rdesktop.sourceforge.net). [alert admin]

Nuku 1.2.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Neat! Except I…

don't know what the characters mean. An English translation would be great. [alert admin]

It appears that…

the Windoze version of Palm Desktop is a very different animal than the Mac Palm Desktop (which was based on Claris Organizer). The themes for the Mac Palm Desktop, in fact use just the resource fork of a file. So, if you want Mac Themes, fire up ResEdit and do it, don't berate someone for only supporting themes on the platform they use. [alert admin]

Works great but...

If it's under warranty, see if Apple will fix it. Your HD wouldn't get protected if your MacBook dropped flat to the floor if your Z sensor isn't working.

Nice screenshots, but how does one install this?

It seems that the application file, among a few others are not shown until the Finder is restarted. Either log out and back in or use TinkerTool's "add quit option to Finder" option.

It seems that the necessary files will appear after you quit and relaunch the Finder. (Either log out and back in, or use TinkerTool to add a quit option to your Finder.)
