Skyscraper 2.0a5 (Mac OS X)
Downloaded it to test, application opened to a blank and unresponsive grey window. This has a long way to go before it's even close to any sort of release. [alert admin]

Safari AdBlocker 1.1 (Mac OS X)
I debate the usefulness of adding the feature to contextually add something to your whitelist something when the whitelist feature isn't working yet. There is a sense of priority that has been lost here. [alert admin]

OmniGrowl 3.7 (Mac OS X)
What is that line doing in the program updates? "Since OmniGrowl handles everything, this is a much better solution for GeekTool users than anything currently available (just try it)." I have OmniGrown AND GeekTool, and they fulfill totally different niches. I don't see OmniGrowl running shell scripts, and nor should it. They're different, and that's good. But the unnecessary and ill-advised jab at GeekTool is pretty unprofessional, and is enough to make me think twice about using OmniGrowl. [alert admin]

iStat Menus 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Wow... I actually feel guilty for uninstalling MenuMeters I loved it so much, but iStat Menus does what it does better and prettier, plus optionally more. I'm very impressed with v2.0, and will be looking to donate. [alert admin]

This was the first thing I missed after installing 10.6, and it's good to see it's back. Seems to be working just fine, so it's everything I could have hoped for! [alert admin]

Twit Menulet 1 (Mac OS X)
Nice idea, doesn't work in real life
The idea of tweets scrolling in a ticker in your menubar sounds nice, until you try and read the text whizzing by or have an application that actually needs the wide menubar real estate this takes up. Twitteriffic still wins, in that it only takes an icon in my menubar. While I can't read them in a ticker with Twitteriffic, I think the nausea I felt during the Twit Menulet trial indicates that might not be such a bad thing. For those who do like this app, though, check out the offer on the developer's page to trade links for a free activation. It's a nice idea. [alert admin]

Tofu 2.0 (Mac OS X)
I thought that Tofu had become abandonware, so I am extra-pleased to see this update! The column view makes large text MUCH easier to read, far more so than I expected. I think my only request would be to change the Services key command to something that does not conflict in Safari, since I use it on webpages most often. [alert admin]

Shockwave Player versus Snow Leopard
What I realize is that many of my more up-to-date plugins are now running in 64 bit on my browser. If I go into 32bit mode, they don't work. And I care about them more. I personally don't care about 64bit, 32bit, or16.7bit. I care about compatibility between components, which this breaches.

Shockwave Player versus Snow Leopard
If I've been running without Shockwave since I upgraded to 10.6, then I apparently haven't noticed nor needed to. So if they won't upgrade to support modern technologies, I guess I won't be needing Shockwave anymore.

64-bit 1.0.2 but no 64-bit 1.0.3?
Looking on the forums, it looks like there was a lot of 64-bit bugs that they wanted to iron out first, so they're not releasing it again in 64 until they get it cleaned up. I know it seemed to work a lot better on HD over HDMI video, so I'll have to test 1.0.3 and see if that was thanks to 64bit (in which case I'll revert to 1.0.2) or if it works fine as…

As soon as it enables functional whitelisting, I'll give it my 5 stars. I'm holding back until them because this feels like a work in progress still, and I don't want to leave anything overly critical when it'll hopefully be fixed in a matter of days.

...I so very badly wish I could delete my original comment. Apparently I wasn't feeling altogether literate at the time I made it. I sincerely apologize, and in fact will be contacting VT requesting them to remove the incorrect comment.

Hidden Preferences No Longer Function
That helps, but I want it disabled completely. My biggest concern is the thumbnail generation; I want it off, for both a reduction of bloat and privacy concerns.

Nice observation, but this is about AIM clients. Mac already has a first-party AIM client, hence "what about iChat". Skype, while probably awesome, has nothing to do with this discussion.

Agreed; this seems maybe a bit much. If these releases are daily, they can't be rigorously tested, which makes me think that might be WHY we need so many 0.0.1 releases. Of course, I could be totally wrong... but with the developer saying nothing about what's changed, I have no way of knowing.

I always had just locked the com.adobe.acrobat.sh.plist file in my Preferences before doing delocalization; that's the "Self Healing" check file. By locking it, it never flagged that the application packages were changed. Problem solved, as all the Self Healing thing does is tell me if the package changed; stopping it does not affect other functionality.

Considering it was released on the 13th, and this review was made on the 20th, I highly doubt that.
