EarthDesk 5.0.1 (Mac OS X)
This was a great program in the 4.x version, but since the update, it hasn't worked at all. At v5.0, it was suggested I uninstall via the button in the pane, then reinstall. I did so... and the program seems to run... but the desktop remained sadly unchanged. I was hoping for a breakthrough in 5.0.1, but alas -- no Earth for my desktop. I'm running a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB carrying 10.5.7. If you've got this setup, you might want to hold back until they get it fixed... [alert admin]

Starry Night Widget 1.2 (Mac OS X)
First, while this is supposedly v1.2, it keeps downloading and installing v1.1. That's a bit frustrating. Second, while I enter my zip code and it goes to the right place, it inevitably resets every time the widgets are started. That's a bit frustrating too. I actually own the main Starry Night program, and I use it on occasion, but this widget would be a handy quick reference... about what a widget is supposed to do. It's too bad there is such an aggravation factor built into it. [alert admin]

Microsoft Office 2004 11.1.1 (Mac OS X)
Just upgraded and played around... As far as I can tell, there were no direct changes in this update to Word (still at 11.1.0 (040910)) or Entourage (still at 11.1.0 (040913)). Excel (11.1.1 (050201)) scrolling is blindingly fast, even with huge spreadsheets. Haven't dabbled in PP for a while, so I can't opine on that one. As for Word 2004 scrolling, it's mediocre but tolerable. Not *quite* as snappy as Word X but other improvements made it worth the jump. I *did* notice a major scrolling speed difference (improvement) in Word 04 when I jumped to OS X.3. Don't know if that applies to you but it sure helped me (I wouldn't go with Office 04 until I was running X.3). [alert admin]

Webseecon 2.0.5 (Mac OS X)
Looked like a great idea. Unfortunately, it gets me to a "Try the Demo" window, then crashes. In testing, I've used 3 of 10 shareware trials trying to get it to work... and it hasn't yet. Too bad. [alert admin]

neveredit 0.8b1 (Mac OS X)
I moved the app into the main NWN folder and it started fine. So far, just poking around, I'm impressed. It actually makes me want to learn scripting... [alert admin]

neveredit 0.8b1 (Mac OS X)
I played around in the last version and I really want to see this thing functional... I was excited to poke around in this new version but unfortunately it crashes on startup ("NevereditMainApp has unexpectedly quit"). Any thoughts? [alert admin]

NWN Tool 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Loads maps well, clean interface, nice job. Unfortunately, upon saving a modified character .bic, it continually gives me a "couid not handle OutOfBounds error. Program must shut down." The price is certainly right, but it would seem that character tweaks are a key part of the program... and it just ain't workin' for me. [alert admin]

Playing with 5.0.1, I discovered if I select the "borderless window" option, it will display -- and that's half a step forward -- but then it covers my iDeskCal floating reminder. That's a full step backward. Downgrading to the 4.x version, it renders normally and lets the iDeskCal float visibly. I miss the starfield background of v 5, but I'll deal with it until Xeric hopefully figures it out.

Actually, I'm a doofus. I moved the app into the main NWN folder and it seemed to start fine. My apologies.
