Pod to Mac 3.0.3 (Mac OS X)
One of the best & most useful Mac apps ever . . . ![]()

The developer, Chris Devor, needs to be applauded. This IS the definitive iPod to Mac program (as others have said). It works flawlessly allowing you to do what Apple does not want you to do. And that is give YOU the power to transfer YOUR music and files wherever YOU want because YOU paid for them! [alert admin]

Easy Currencies 1.3.2 (Mac OS X)
Very nice but FAR too expensive ![]()

I am an international product importer and exporter between many countries. I have to convert currency for my invoices (although most prefer U.S. dollars or Euro). I used this Easy Currencies software for a day (it gives you 7 day evaluation) and it is excellent as it gives you all major conversions in one easy to read vertical table. It uses up to minute conversion tables to do so. The problem is I already do this at: http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html. While the web converter is slightly more difficult to use, it is also free. There are dozens of other excellent Free conversion sites available also. The one I listed is my favorite. I strongly suggest the developers price this product at $9.95 or less or they will be giving up many sales. [alert admin]

VideoVangelist 1.4.3 (Mac OS X)
If this doesn't work, try Visual Hub
Yes, I know that Visual Hub has stopped development and has not been updated in 6 months. But I have a TV ad agency and I use Visual Hub more than any other conversion software. I have compared its quality to my $500 conversion software and it wins! It was $22 bucks but not available anymore. If you need this type of software, by all means try VideoVangelist but if it doesn't do what you need, do what you can to get Visual Hub. [alert admin]

Midnight Mansion 1.1.7 (Mac OS X)
I try a lot of Mac games with my 7 year old and this is a big winner. You go around with "Chubby Joe" (as my boy calls him) looking for keys to various rooms. You then move through doors, obstacles and what not to find the room filled with gold. There are three levels and I play on the easiest which is plenty hard. Very well designed, very fun and a steal at $20. [alert admin]

Skype 2.8.0.324 (Mac OS X)
I used this on 3 hours of international calls yesterday. Just voice, no video. Works fine. I don't see any difference between this and earlier version which also worked fine. I run a PowerMac G5 dual 2.7 with 10.5.6 over T1 internet connection. [alert admin]

MAC M4P Converter 5.0.3 (Mac OS X)
I'm sure this program is great but it is so easy to strip out the protection without this. Just burn your music to a CD (cost around 15 cents for the disk to fit 26 songs) then re-rip into iTunes at 192 rate MP3. There you go - an MP3 with no MP4 protection. [alert admin]

FileChute 3.0.5 (Mac OS X)
Works better WITHOUT .Mac Account!
I used to use Filechute with a .Mac account. But then Apple started SERIOUSLY BUGGING me about too much disk space - brutal limitations!. For much cheaper, I set up a go daddy account (use any service you want - they are just cheap and automatically stream from ftp) and linked Filechute into it. It took me exactly 9 minutes to set it up and link it. Now I am very happy and file transfers are a breeze. I don't know how I got by before FileChute and my go daddy account! [alert admin]

This patch seriously rocks! I do a great deal of financial analysis and I hate PCs so much, my company lets me use a Mac. This patch allows me to save passwords for secure https websites saving me huge amounts of time. "Oh, there is a reason that Safari doesn't save the password - it's a secure site. You are risking all by saving the username and password!," you might say. No, my office has a full time guard and shut off my computer every night. Bottom line is: This thing saves much time and it is limitation from Safari that should not be there. [alert admin]

iVolume 2.5.3 (Mac OS X)
I have music from literally hundreds of sources - from CS ranging from 1983 to 2007, live bootleg tapes from the mid-80's and hundreds of albums I have digitized. I have played with all sorts of software to try to equalize. I was constantly having to adjust the volume of my stereo with different sources. This did the trick for $15. It is not 100% perfect but it's 98% perfect. [alert admin]

. . . Then rip at 320 or lossless or another method. Here is an experiment I highly suggest you try: Burn your MP4s to CD, rip by method of choice which by default is importing an unprotected song (try a few methods until you find one you like), have people listen to the original then the ripped/stripped version (don't tell them which they are listening to) and see if they can tell a…

"Oh yeah. One more thing. In '82, I built my own PC out of wood. Fast? Yeah. Built it with my own hands out of that old Cherry in back of the office. Me likes the hard woods. Yeah. I dropped in an Amiga 128 chipset that I soldered to a Timex/Sinclair box. Yeah. Full sized keyboard out of Maple. Hey, that's the way I roll, so live with it. Yeah."

For the sad sack who wrote this review, I have two comments: 1. What is wrong with you? 2. Please don't post useless reviews on Versiontracker. I don't know where to begin to address your stupid review. Leopard has run PERFECTLY for me since the day I installed it. Lucky, you say? No. I installed it on SEVEN computer computers and all run flawlessly. MS Office for Mac is a great program and allows me to have a…

Doesn't work on Wallstreet/10.3
I have 10.3.9 flying on a Wallstreet V2. It took a few time to get it to load and I set the video as recommended by the tech note (ProRage some thing). It is at least 50% faster than 10.2.8, extremely stable (no crash in 6 months).

Best guess: Lemke will see this comment and fix Graphic Converter to correctly handle .WMF - all in his next weekly update! He is very responsive to his customer's needs and is quick to add features they want.

I may not understand the technical aspects of volume normalization or even the right terms. I do, on the other hand, clearly understand the promise given by MP3 Rage: "This tool analyzes the sound data of all MP3 files in the source folder and adjusts the volume of each file so they all play at a similar sound level." That is very clear to me and does not speak of peaks or other technical jargon. Especially Note:…
