CrossOver Games 7.2.0 (Mac OS X)
Far from playing what I want...
This is really misleading and they should update their description. There are about 10 games that are guaranteed to work, the rest of the list, about 150 games, are primarily Honorable Mention, meaning that it has been reported to work but not supported. There are a handful of silver and no Gold that I could see. I think I will stick to VMWare fusion or Boot Camp, which runs games at full speed. I mean really you can get a copy of XP OEM for under $99, and that will enable you to play games at full speed with full capabilities. Just my opinion, but this app is pointless... [alert admin]

Squirrel 0.7.3 (Mac OS X)
I am not a big fan of paying to be a beta tester, that is a trend lately and that is ridiculous. (Tubular app, anyone). While this app does look promising, it has been a perpetual beta for more then 2 years. Also the price is listed here as $11 for the beta but on the site is $21 or more, depending on the Euro. Time to update the listing. I'll be watching out for this when it is finished as a good finance manager is always needed on the Mac... [alert admin]

VMware Fusion 1.1.2 (Mac OS X)
VMWare is hands down the best! ![]()

VMware is the best virtual machine for running Windows or linux, at least in my opinion and experience. I have used several of the others including Parallels and the recent freeware products and although Parallels was first to market and has similar features, it is still outdone by VMware fusion. This is huge considering Parallels is at version 3 and fusion is just now starting beta for 2.0. The stability factor versus Parallels was noticeable for me, with my system giving me an occasional kernel panic when Parallels was installed. The support for VMware is fantastic too and the fact that 2.0 will be a FREE upgrade is over the top and completely awesome! As to the features of VMware, one of them that is awesome is the Unity mode which loses the windows desktop and puts a windows xp app along side the Mac apps. I realize that Parallels has something similar with Coherence mode but the VMWare implementation is far superior, as you do not have an ugly windows task bar by default. I think they improved that in version 3, but no need to use parallels for me as it just keeps getting better. There are plenty more great features too like full USB 2.0 support, the ability to assign multiple cpus, 3D graphics acceleration and more. If you are looking for a way to run windows apps on an intel Mac, look no further you have found the best virtualization has to offer! [alert admin]

Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection 2.0b3 (Mac OS X)
I second the RTM comment but also...
How about updating this page to include what's new and changed. Also the system specs as to which systems come with terminal server is way off. .NET Server??? That hasn't been used since Windows Server 2003 was still in testing. Also how about adding Vista and Windows Server 2008 on there as they both support RDC including the newer security models that I assume this client supports no? [alert admin]

Disco 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)
Don't listen to tcloer, disco is much more...
Disco is much more then a fancy wrapper for built in frameworks. So what if it uses the frameworks that are built in to OS X for disc burning. Disco adds a great workflow, support for cataloging the contents you burn and much more. Comparing the ease of Disco to disk utility is like comparing a firecracker to a nuclear bomb. There is no comparison... [alert admin]

Free Solitaire 3D 3.0 (Mac OS X)
I figured it out: Bizarro World
In the Bizarro world where up is down, Free is $20! Nothing like ticking of your customers and insuring they never try your app by naming it "FREE" and charging $20. What is the $20 for, the installer? No maybe it is the fee for downloading it, yeah that must be it. ;) No Thanks... [alert admin]

Theme Installer Builder 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I am not sure i understand why this app is necessary? With add-ons on RapidWeaver, you simply need to double-click the add-on and RW will install it in the appropriate application support folder. The link you gave for the screenshot I can only assume is an error as all I seen was a plain window with an install button. What is delicious about that? I am not trying to sound harsh here but you are charging for this application and RW users don't need this at all as this is all built into RW... Am I missing something here? [alert admin]

Apple MacBook Pro Software Update 1.0 (Mac OS X)
After looking into the package, it seems to be various nVidia GeForce drivers used in the MBP. Would it have killed Apple to include a bit more details or is it Company Policy of Late to be so vague on what's getting updated... Since they have dropped the Computer in their names, it seems like their focus is indeed turned. [alert admin]

Canon PowerShot ImageBrowser 5.8b (Mac OS X)

Adobe Reader 8.0 (Mac OS X)
Crashes on My MacBook 2.0Ghz Core Duo
I cannot get this program to run at all. After downloading and starting for the first time it asks to install the Safari Plugin then goes through the initialization. If I go to Open a PDF it immediately quits without notice. If I try to do anything it quits. Seems to quit after about 10 or so seconds. Did they not do any testing? I have a completely stock OS X install, not haxies or mods or any other junk cludging my system. Oh well, heres hoping Adobe irons out these issues... [alert admin]

From what I have seen NTI on PC is not the same as on the Mac. What you described for the PC version describes Roxio Easy CD/Media Creator to the tee. 900 programs all for burning various things. It is pathetic. I use Nero 6 on the PC, while it is still somewhat modular it is not near as bad as Roxio. I would also say give this a go…

Yeah I have to agree that you should first make sure it is not your system. That being said the 3.x versions of RW would constantly crash for me costing me a lot of lost work. In that case it was not my Mac as the later 3.6 versions seemed to solve the problem with not a single crash... I just checked my crash logs on my Mac and not a single…

Umm Well in the past, especially the 8.0 version, there was a serious problem that prevented it from being installed on some intel macs. 8.0 had an intel version and yet it refused to install and would crash on my MacBook which is completely vanilla. I don't use haxies or system mods of any kind. So saying that haxies are to blame is letting Adobe off too easy... That said I…

yes, a wonderful team for a... forgot product
Umm if you are referring to the Previous Days Updates link at the bottom of VT then you must know that you cannot get to the previous days updates unless you create an account and Login. Once you do that, the link works perfectly. try logging in with OW and try it again. I have never had this problem. OmniWeb is a fantastic browser, and I have found it to be…

Yeah one can use disk utility. But I don't know about the "easily" part. I am so tired of people and their "this is just another Disc Burning wrapper". That could not be further from the truth. While it certainly uses the Disc Burning Frameworks it adds a lot of features too, all wrapped up in a great interface. If you think that it is easier to use Disk Utility…

GarageSale 4 crashes constantly and there is no support from the company
I have both iSale and GarageSale 3.x. I went back and forth and finally decided on iSale because of the much better interface and stability. There are a few features in GarageSale that I wish iSale had but the interface and performance of GarageSale have not been great. I sent suggestions when I was a new user about the confusing nature of "Templates" that are not really templates but auctions, and…

This will work perfectly fine. You do have to reactivate windows once everything is installed and working, but only once. I setup a MacBook to do this very same thing you are mentioning,

No. More Likely is that the HD is not getting ad hot because the rest of the MacBook is staying cooler and the fans are coming on more frequently, thus also cooling the HD as well.

This is where people get confused and blame VT. It is up to the developer of the app to select whether a release is beta or not. VT does not change this, they only display what the developer selects when editing their release information displayed on VT. So if anyone is not on the ball it would be Adobe/Macromedia...
