Atomic Mac 6.2 (Mac OS X)

Nice periodic table software

Overall Atomic Mac is a pretty nice piece of software. It presents a large amount of data in a convenient way. I actually prefer the interface it provides to other programs like Elements. In particular, I like the way individual element information is presented in Atomic Mac using tabs - the similar display in Elements, with its extensive use of toggles, is incredibly annoying. There are, of course, some features I'd like to see added, such as the ability to switch some colorings to a logarithmic scale. A display mode showing the properties of two elements side by side would also be useful. The best you can do now is put two property diplsys side by side (which, BTW, I don't believe is possible in Elements). Finally, a UI niggle - I often find myself double-clicking on an element box in the main display, which is interpreted as two clicks, one popping up the property display and the other putting it away. Double click should have the same effect as single click in this context. I'd also like to see help viewer support, especially since that would be a way to provide detailed definitions of all the element properties the program can display. [alert admin]

WeatherMan 1.3 (Mac OS 9)

Excellent piece of…

software. Two minor issues with the UI: When modifying a city the window title should be "Modify City Assistant" rather than "Add a City Assistant". Additionally, it should be possible to use the tabs when making modifications (it makes sense to disable them during adds). [alert admin]
