Aladdin is moving…

to become a Windows software vendor. And this change is reflected in the ever diminishing quality of their software and support. Get a book about Mac OS X instead of paying for Spring Cleaning. Some basic knowledge of the OS would serve you far better than this product. [alert admin]

Stick to 7.0…

if you have that version. I utterly regret having upgraded to the 7.5 Deluxe version - it is fraught with quirks, and it is not at all user friendly. Really a step back - well actually, many steps back. [alert admin]

Galactica: Anno Dominari 2.1b8 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Same problem as…

Silver Darkness - the program doesn't even run - not at all good for an eighth beta release. [alert admin]

Sigma Chess 5.1.3 (Mac OS 9)

Packed with features…

which make it very versatile. It was well worth the modest upgrade price to the pro version. [alert admin]

I don't like…

Netscape, because it is big and slow. It lags behind in features and pushes its own portal as well as AOL. Its installer adds links to AOL & co. on your Internet Explorer toolbar, desktop, start menu, ... It really litters everything. So get Mozilla, not Netscape. Maybe AOL/Time Warner/Netscape will get the message that way. [alert admin]

ObjectPlant 3.0.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

BadDog: despite the…

lack of Obj-C support, this is still a useful tool in the design process. The shareware price is very reasonable. Hopefully the activity diagrams will be added soon. [alert admin]

Intego NetBarrier X 10.0.1 (Mac OS X)

I would suggest…

either using Mac OS X's included ipfw (know-how required) or at least trying Impasse (cost $10), which you can try for 30 days free. NetBarrier is overpriced. [alert admin]

Vektor3 3.1.1 (Mac OS X)

I feel compelled…

to add another 5-star rating after the author's exemplary support that led to my system being cleared of a serious flaw when I erroneously thought that I was reporting a bug. [alert admin]
