Little Snitch 1.2.4b3 (Mac OS X)

Serious bug can cause problems

VersionTracker reports that this is caching DNS information. No new version with a fix as of yet. [alert admin]

Widget Maker X 1.2.3 (Mac OS X)

Asking for Admin passwords is a no-no!

After looking at and comparing all three Widget making tools on the market, I've got to say that this one didn't last long on our hard drive. There is NO reason that ANY program should ever ask you for your Admin password after the program has installed. There is just too much potential for password abuse. It's obvious that the programs author is going to come up with a wonderful gem of an excuse as to why they "need" your Admin password, but common sense says that no excuse is really good enough. No other Widget program needs you to enter in your password, and yet those programs still are able to make Widgets for you. This program has a lot of potential, but it won't get too far as long as it keeps asking for everyones Admin password. Like most people I cast my vote for Widgetarium as the best of all 3 Widget programs to date. [alert admin]

update rip-off

It was your decision to throw the original disk away. No one told you to do this. It's called operator error. Now you'll need to pay for your mistake by buying it again. I doubt you'll throw the next one away :p

For video captures consider ScreenFlow

Thank you for the heads up about ScreenFlow. It looks light years ahead of Snapz Pro.

problem creating dual-layer DVDs

Not sure why it posted 3 copies of that. Sorry, unfortunately they don't provide a way to delete here.

problem creating dual-layer DVDs

No, don't get DVD2oneX, it doesn't work that well with the newer versions of OS X, plus they have the worst customer support on the net. We use Popcorn 3, made from the folks at Roxio, a REAL software company with good tech support.

limited function IDE is too expensive

I've got to agree with the original poster, keeping the price down helps you and us. A simple example would be a baker who sells 100 loaves of bread at $3, or just a few loaves at $15.00. It's the same principle. I'm not sure if you've ever taken a collage class on business management or not, but they teach you to keep you eyes on the goal, and not how you 'think' you should…

I agree, don't install this!

I also agree that it would be better to wait until Apple addresses this issue, which they are already working on. In the mean time you can go to Preferences > General and UNclick "Open safe files after opening". Better safe than sorry, and the less programs like this on your Mac, the less chance for other security holes to pop up. The answer is not to use a band-aid approach (like this program) to…

Overpriced

I agree, it is very overpriced. You can get MacCapture for 29 bucks and it does the same thing. If Snapz Pro was 30-40.00 it would be much more reasonable, and more people would buy it. You can sell one loaf of bread for $5.00, or 20 loaves of bread for $2.00. As a company, which one makes you more money?
