BullZip PDF Printer 5.0.0.609 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Best Free PDF Printer driver I've tried and tested

Bullzip PDF printer does almost everything Adobe's over priced pdf creator does for FREE. I've been using this and several other PDF creators for several months now, and this is the winner IMHO. It works great in XP, but I have not tried it in Vista yet. It gives me complete control over security for each document including encryption strength, and access rights. Any application that can print, can produce a PDF document by selecting Bullzip PDF in the print dialog box. You can also watermark your documents if you want. I mostly like the control, the price (free), and the small file size. [alert admin]

PrimoPDF 4.0 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Good Utility if you really need all these features

Pros: This utility includes almost every feature in a PDF printer driver that you could ever need. It is totally free and not limited or crippled in any way. It is not a trial, it is the complete unlimited package all for free. Good simple user interface. Manual is free at the developers website under the support tab in either pdf or html format. Cons: This is overkill for most users. An 18MB download for a printer driver? For a simpler solution download Bullzip PDF freeware. It has all the same features in under 4MB. Also, PDF Writer and Cute PDF are free but no encryption or other features. The PDF files produced seem larger than necessary compared to Bullzip PDF creator freeware and the various other PDF creator's I've used. [alert admin]

Belarc Advisor 7.2x (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Excellent: Should be part of Windows OS

This is an excellent system tool. My only complaint is why hasn't Microsoft included this within the Windows Operating System (OS) itself, since it is an almost essential SYSTEM tool. [alert admin]

Weather Watcher 5.6.0.5 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

I found the Options Menu

I found the options menu. Right click on the temperature in the Windows System Tray in the lower right of the screen. A whole new menu will pop up. Then, on this pop up menu, left click on the word Options near the top of the menu, and the entire options window will open up with countless tabs for you to change anything. Then click on Apply and OK. [alert admin]

MightyFAX 3.19 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Excellent Fax Management

I have been sending faxes directly from my computer with this program for almost a year now with great success. This is the best fax sending program I have found for a reasonable price, and I really searched the web. If you found something you like better that is compativle with XP home SP-2, please post it. With Mighty Fax, if you can print it, you can fax it. Faxing is just printing to a fax machine instead of a printer. [alert admin]

eDocPrinter PDF Pro 6.16.3902 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Excellent Secure PDF Creator

This inexpensive application does most of the important things that Acrobat does, at far less the price. I create PDF documents from any printable Windows application, inclucing password protection, usage control, watermarks, stamps, encryption, etc. [alert admin]

pdf-DocPro 3.2 (Mac OS X)

Correct Version is 3.4.4

I downloaded, and putchased for money, version 3.4.4 of this program a few months ago. It works. It is easy to use. However, I recommend you go to the developers site and download the current version of 3.4.4 instead of the old version 3.2 shown here. [alert admin]

SnapMail 4.2.3 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Good Cross Platform LAN email (non-internet)

This is a good application for use on my combination Windows and Macintosh network which is "secure" in that it does not involve the internet. Email messages and files are sent directly from one PC to a Mac or another PC on this and only this local area network (LAN). This prevents information from leaking out onto the internet. I have conducted a search, and have not bound any other LAN only cross platform email program that does not require a server, and is secure from outsiders. [alert admin]

Foxit PDF Reader 1.3.0929 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Type directly onto existing PDF documents!

I can click on the "typewriter" and type directly onto any existing PDF document. I can comment and annotate any PDF document. I can fill in PDF forms too. Also, it opens PDF files much much faster than Adobe Reader, and I did not have any problem opening files created in version 7 (the latest) of Acrobat. This is a good product. [alert admin]

ZipIt 2.2.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

More compatible than DropZip (Stuffit) with Windows

I was having occasional compatibility problems with sending zipped encrypted password protected zip files to Windows computers when I created the archive with Stuffit's DropZip. When I created the encrypted archive with Zipit and emailed the file to a Windows computer, there was no longer any problem unzipping the file. However, this utility has not had an update in a number of years and the interface is a bit dated. [alert admin]
