SABnzbd for OS X 0.2 (Mac OS X)
Let me start by saying that this is NOT a simple, typical Mac application. It is a server that runs in the background - to use it you must point your web browser at it. The documentation is somewhat sketchy, so if you don't know what I just said then maybe this app isn't for you :) Once you have it set up, it is like a rock. It never crashes, it always downloads the whole nzb, and it is as fast as my internet connection - able to open as many connections as you ask it to. It even can be set up to primarily download from your (free) ISP news server and then use the paid server for fills. My favorite feature is the "black hole" folder. You can designate a folder - any folder - as the nzb "black hole". Any nzb dropped into this folder will be automatically downloaded. It's fantastic - you can just drop in a bunch of nzbs and then check the download folder a few hours later. I'd give it 5 stars, but it is so un-Mac-like that I had to knock one off. [alert admin]

mpc2aiff 1.0b2 (Mac OS X)
I installed mppdec from Fink and followed the command line instructions below. All I got was a hiss. Turns out I needed to add a flag to swap the endian-ness of the file. To do this you use the "--raw-be" flag. Now the command looks like:
mppdec --raw-be FILENAME.mpc | esdcat
Now I get music! Hope this helps someone... [alert admin]

Why would you try to download from some untrusted, 3rd party site when there is a download link to the videolan.org website right here on the versiontracker page?

I put a version up on my blog that enables the use of the middle mouse button to open and close a tab, just as on the other platforms.

I had to change the endian-ness of my flie to make it work with esdcat, as recommended below, by adding the "--raw-be" flag:
mppdec --raw-be FILENAME.mpc | esdcat
I am running the version of mppdec and esound installed with Fink.
Hope this helps a kindred spirit!
