inXout monitor 0.3b (Mac OS X)

WOW!

I have been using WhistleBlower, but that only restarts after a problem, it doesn't help tell me what the problem is/was. I particularly like the ability to see what the status of the mac was three/ twelve/ 128 days ago. Seeing what was happening three minutes before the crash is a lot easier than trying to recreate the crash. [alert admin]

EVDO Dormant Killer 1.0 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

EVDO - The Holy Grail for Broadband Wireless Internet

I have been waiting years for broadband wireless internet access and it is here TODAY. You can get 300-500k average download speeds and even turbocharge your EVDO card and get 900K - 1200K AVERAGE. That is right. You do NOT need a hotspot, YOU are the hotspot. Check http://www.EVDO-Info.com for a lot more information, news, tips, downloads, and lots of cool info. [alert admin]

MAMP 1.0.a3 (Mac OS X)

THIS ROCKS!

I am doing PHP development on my PowerBook and this app allows me to quickly get Apache/PHP/MySQL running and ready for testing. When done, i just quit MAMP and all the daemons quit, no command line. Works great! [alert admin]

Very Cool!

I got a iPod photo 60gb over xmas. This little gem works great and gives me lots of news, weather, podcasts and other cool things to my iPod. Developer is very responsive and there has been 3 updates to this, since I started using it! [alert admin]

ChronoSync 2.0.8 (Mac OS X)

Great with iPod Too!

I have been using ChronoSync to sync between my PowerBook and G5 every night. It has been working great all these months. I just got an iPod photo 60gb. I also setup ChronoSync to also sync ALL my documents, letters, proposals, programming, etc. to mirror to my iPod. Now, when I carry my iPod out of the office, I have every document and file that I have EVER created with me. That adds quite a bit of peace of mind. Thanks for a great product. [alert admin]

SpamSieve 2.2 (Mac OS X)

WOW!

I am a pretty good at keeping my rules in Mail up to date and constantly adding new rules and blocking new sites, but it is a never ending fight. Mail's junk filtering has been letting more and more spam slip through. The other day, I found SpamSieve ($25) and after installing it, there is a little training you do, by pointing it to good mail, then pointing it to junk mail. It automatically adds people you send mail to the white list, it has rules and filtering and it is very powerful. After using it for the last few days, it is done a perfect job of putting spam in the new Spam folder. Setup was simple and the directions were clear and easy to follow. I am really impressed on how well this works. I went to their web site and discovered that many others have had the same success. I am not affiliated with the company, I just think it was the best $25 I ever spent. [alert admin]

ChronoSync 2.0.7 (Mac OS X)

WOW!

WOW! I tried 3 other sync products and this one works GREAT! I am using it to sync between my PowerBook and desktop. All my documents, projects, etc, are automatically sync'd every night while I sleep. If I work on a proposal or project during the day, it will automatically appear on my other computer tomorrow. This allows me to work at my office or any where with my PB, and all my files are sync'd between the 2. Highly recommended! [alert admin]

Macaroni 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Highly Recommended!

My desktop would crash around once every week or so. I installed Macaroni and had it do a nightly fix permissions and my mac has yet to crash. I recommend this for all my clients. Much easier to use then setting a cron to do the same thing. [alert admin]

Crashes

Me too :( I have been using Retrospect for the last 10 years. I was waiting for this release before upgrading my PowerBook to Tiger. I have 2 backups that run. One is small, it backups my servers to my iPod Photo 60gb. This only takes 15 minutes and works perfectly. The other backup, is a complete backup of my PB HD to Firewire. Been working flawlessly until the update. Now,…
