SafariSorter 2.11 (Mac OS X)
Much-needed functionality, works great, intuitive interface and unbeatable price (especially compared to Iraq invasion ;-) Five stars from beginning to end! [alert admin]

iForm 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Interesting concept, but not enough information. The server is Mac, but can the clients be Windows or Linux? [alert admin]

InsertPicturePPTX 2.6 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
AppleScript... often neglected superpower
The existence of this script for 25 bucks just shows that MS fails at implementing simple, much-needed and much-wanted features - do they listen to their customers at all? (other examples: automatically insert multiple worksheets from multiple files into Excel, Excel cascaded and stacked bar graphs combined, etc.)
I have not tried this program, but there is a free alternative (not as comfortable). An AppleScript can be found at: http://bbs.applescript.net/viewtopic.php?t=3847&highlight=powerpoint

GEDitCOM 3.70b2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
The GEDitCOM website claims the following feature:
Reading and writing files using ASCII characters (with Mac OS Roman extensions), ANSEL characters, Unicode characters, UTF-8 characters, MS-DOS characters, and MS-Windows characters.
But I can not enter any names with Unicode characters into GEDitCOM no matter what I try. Take for example ş (lowercase s with cedilla). So I think either the feature description is misleading or the claims are false. Until I am proven wrong (which I hope I will) 2 stars! [alert admin]Saturday, April 17 2004 @ 09:57 AM PDT
MyMind 1.1b2 (Mac OS X)
...you can add multiple columns. Unfortunately, they are "dumb". That means the program does not know if it's just a name, a date or dollars or some other number. So no addition or calculation like in OmniOutliner. Other than that seems very stable and responsive. Only other problem: no updates since July last year, but the program needs further development for me to be attractive. Great price, though. [alert admin]

SplashID 3.0b (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Good to see some competition... :-)
...Unfortunately, all competitors cost the same - around 30$ (Palm+Mac) :-(
Of the three SplashID, WebConfidential, Password Wallet, I still prefer Password Wallet. Why? Because it let's me copy and paste username and password at the same time with one mouseclick and one key shortcut. I don't think the other two can do that? [alert admin]

FO 0.9k (Mac OS X)
Unlike the two reviewers before me, I actually had a look at this app. While it has a lot of functionality in reshaping your outlines and the rate at which updates are released is impressive, I do not see how you can rate an outliner with five stars that does not have multiple colums.
In fact there are no columns at all, so no room for dates, dollars or things like "person in charge". I also don't like the user interface of many icons and no text explanation. BTW explanations, there is no online help. FO is in beta and seems quite stable. So I think with improved user interface (but still no columns) this app would deserve four stars if it was free (OmniOutliner puts you down at $30). But that is uncertain as there is no information on future price and the demo runs out June 1. [alert admin]

Taco HTML Edit 1.5.0 (Mac OS X)
In my last review (1.2.0) I gave this thing five stars and said that it was only missing three things: constant file structure display, special character tool, HTML documentation. Then the other day I thought HyperEdit's live preview pane is cool.
Now, Taco has "Project" and the "Quick Insert Menu" includes special characters and uses the Safari engine for live preview - so all my wishes are covered. Only thing missing is HTML documentation: For example it would be nice, when selecting tags in "Advanced Tag insert..." to see in another field a short description of how that tag works.
But even without that, I think Taco is the ideal non-graphic HTML editing tool for beginners and occassional and regular HTML users, who don't want to pay for BBEdit (I never paid for it, never used it, so I cannot compare review here) or even Golive. Although, Taco is non-graphic, I thought it easy enough to use with my humble HTML knowledge to abandon my wishes for a graphical editor for now (for which you need HTML knowledge in the end, anyway). Import Selected iPod Tracks to iTunes 1.3 (Mac OS X)
this works as advertised, but if it's late at night and you for some reason CANNOT select your ipod tracks in itunes, you just have to remember to enable "manually manage songs and playlists" in the ipod Preferences in itunes. [alert admin]

Soude 1.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Weird interface and lack of info on the website. But does amazing stuff and is certainly worth a look for any artist wanting to draw skeleton-based "stuff". [alert admin]

Taco does recognize umlauts. What is your problem? You know that umlauts should be written ä so that other browsers recognize them (to be inserted through quick insert). And although it is interesting to hear your laments about there not being any cheap graphical editors on Mac (it's true, even Freeway costs $250), it's not really relevant to reviewing Taco, which in my opinion is the ONLY good free HTML text-editor. So if it was…

I used to think that, too. But for professional document management there is also Optix from mindwrap.com. They're not very good at advertising their product, they are not on versiontracker.com, I never tested the program (no demo) and I have no clue what it costs, but it looks more professional than this. Unfortunately seem to be bad marketers.
