ASM 2.3 (Mac OS X)
Installer should have had a warning....
....that the registered version will be over-written. GraphicConverter and Default Folder, among others, warn about the change in license and give you an immediate chance to change your mind. I for one didn't read the "what's new" til AFTER the reg. dialog came up. Not too sporting.... [alert admin]

Photomatix Pro 3.2 (Mac OS X)
No sign that the Aperture plugin is being updated while the included Lightroom plugin was. No sign of a beta Aperture plugin at all. [alert admin]

PithHelmet 2.8.4 (Mac OS X)
LIke other posters, I tried Ad-Block, too, for the past week. As far as I'm concerned, PH is a) well worth the money (yes, I paid!) and b) a better product because it's more versatile (eg, the contextual items and c) does a better job overall. Yes, sometimes it has to be updated. Why? All products do. After all, it broke because Safari...got updated! [alert admin]

Apple Safari 3.2.1 (Mac OS X)
...still crashes it. AdBlock for Safari works, but I like PithHelmet's contextual selections and the ability to reload unfiltered. [alert admin]

WeatherPop Advance 2.6.1 (Mac OS X)
Just sort USA Today to the end of the list of sources, and then delete and recreate your locations. I did that and now WeatherPop is working fine again (10.5.2). [alert admin]

MLB Schedule 1.7 (Mac OS X)
...piece of software that just keeps getting better and better with each version. Six stars! [alert admin]

VueScan 8.2.02 (Mac OS X)
I've had Vuescan since I first installed 10.1.0. It had a bit of a rough start til Mr. Hamrick learned that we Mac users care about interfaces and usability. However, the life it's given my old Umax 1200s scanner is amazing. Now, with the advent of OCR, I'm even more amazed. If he could get Vuescan to retain formatting (columns, tables, etc) while outputting to RTF, I think I'd even pay for that upgrade. [alert admin]

Mozilla Firefox 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
...Firefox is superb for Windows (it's what I use at work instead of IE), but it's soooooo un-Maclike I can't bear to touch it. No Quartz? No Services support? No thank you. Camino and Safari are the much better free bets, with Omniweb the $$$ option. [alert admin]

Postfix q Monitor 1.1 (Mac OS X)
I think the decimal point is off one place: This should be $14.90. [alert admin]

HP-12C Financial Calculator Emulator 3.1 (Mac OS X)
...but the price sucks. $20 is too much. $16 was too much, too. [alert admin]

First run has you authorize it, and the dialog has a link to their privacy policy. I trashed it at that point. I'll use the old version til they stop supporting it, and then I'll use the online. They say it's "safer" to them to autoupdate me than for me to manually update Google products. I think not.

Same here, except I don't get a dialog (I get the same text looking in the app's crash log).

Use alt-caps lock-delete (pressing in that order and then releasing all 3 together) to reboot instead of the battery popout.
