Transmission 0.72 (Mac OS X)
When I launch transmission I get like 40 peers and downloads start coming at an amazing 500k per second, but it immediately starts losing incoming connections and always ends up at 0 of 56 peers when obviously there are at least 40 online so downloads take days. Not sure if this is a faw in transmission or not. Besides that, it's great [alert admin]

Overflow 2.0.2 (Mac OS X)
This is a great app and is a must have as everyone else has said. it really helps a lot BUT it would be nice if it had an auto-wrap based on whatever shape you resize it to, instead of using a fixed shape so you can drag it into different shapes or sizes without having to re-edit everything in each launcher to fit different parts of your screen or other monitors for that matter when you use mutliple monitors. Somehow affects system -crashes
I use my computer all day every day. I have not installed any other software recently and as soon as I installed this, my computer started crashing every 5 minutes. I had to zap PRAM to get the airport/bluetooth card in order but only after going into safe mode. Now I am finding that somehow Firefox is what is crashing my system in conjuction with this update, but I havent updated it, and it worked fine before this update. [alert admin]

FTPortal 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
This seems like a useful "quick upload" concept although it's a little messier to have several copies of the app instead of having a list of bookmarks in one place like most ftp apps do. That only matters if you need to access many sites regularly. On a lighter note and the main reason for this post... Who names their hard drive "Prudence" ? LOL (see screen shot) [alert admin]

Calculating Running Time takes longer than the videos ![]()

I am sure this is just my experience as everyone seems to love this app. I dragged nine 30-minute or less videos in to the window after selecting DVD, hit start and it has said "calculating total running time" for an hour now. I am going to force quit after posting this. If the developer reads this it would be useful if the time was calculated after each video is dragged in as Toast does so you can STOP if you dont have any more room to add more data. [alert admin]

BitTorrent 4.4.1 (Mac OS X)
You would think this was an easy fix.... ![]()

When first launched, this version (and some previous versions) looks for peers and finds them. Then, it gets slower and slower as peers disappear slowly but surely until there are none. If you quit the app and relaunch it, it finds several peers again. All the develepors need to do it seems to make this compete with all other clients as have it re-check for available peers evey minute or two while downloading. Until then, I guess I have to switch to one of the other clients.... [alert admin]

TamTam 1.2.2 (Mac OS X)
I would love to see this conversion work for Palm T3 or T5 using navigator 2004. The T5 has a SD card as does the GO so I wonder if there is a way to make it work easily with the T5 as well. [alert admin]

Halo 1.0.4 (Mac OS X)
Good Luck on seeing MacSoft put out an update that actually helps a game play better. Still waiting for them to fix a so called "update" for UnrealTournament 2004 that caused gameplay to NOT function when connecting to servers with custom maps. That was put out like 3 or 4 months ago and they never released an update to that which also screwed up gameplay, after saying it would be fixed soon. I cant believe someone from there asked if we were trying these updates on wintels and not macs (see their post below). Do not install this update if you dont want to have to reinstall the whole thing. [alert admin]

Since the makers of this patch obviously dont care about you enough to advise you, I am doing it for them. This patch has a 90+ percent chance of messing up your game and wasting hours of your time to reinstall... and that is only if your are saavy enough to find all the old prefs hidden in your system and delete them.... I spoke with them (Greg Grimes at MacSoft Tech Support back on 11/18/03) and he said he would take the 5 minutes it takes to put a note on their site that the patch WILL DAMAGE YOUR GAMEPLAY IF YOU PLAY CUSTOM MAPS ON ANY SERVERS and I have the email to prove it. They never did that and it is 2 weeks later. So, because I care about my fellow mac people more than this company that is taking our money and wasting our time, I am telling you. DO NOT INSTALL THIS PATCH UNTIL THEY RELEASE THE FIX. I was told it would be out "soon" over a month ago so dont cross your fingers, as they obviously dont have 2 minutes to spend on you and write this themselves or take the patch down. I love the game, as I am sure you do too, but do not use this patch, and please take the time to complain to them about this issue and the fact that they are wasting your time directly at support@macsoftgames.com [alert admin]
