Media 100 12.1.1 (Mac OS X)
You've got to admit these people have guts. Where I live, our coffee shops are littered with film directors and camera men who have been displaced by the digital age. At the risk of mixing allegories, companies like Media 100 and Avid should wake up and smell the coffee in Brazil. I remember seeing my first SP Betacam back in the mid 80s. Tthey cost $100,000+ and Media 100 units were 3 times the price. True broadcast quality for cameras is now entry-level at around $700 but Media 100 still clings to this field of dreams mentality. Even Final Cut Express will do the job that Media 100 does and at a fraction of the cost. If I were these people, I'd bend with the wind and release this for its true value - in the vicinity of $85 to $120. Just because I bought a Mercededs for $60K 20 years ago doesn't mean that it's worth that today, Sounds like a last desperate dash for cash from a company that's in the process of folding IMHO. PowerCard 2.2 (Mac OS X)
There's a bug. Downloaded and launched and hit 'New' - nothing happens - no new project opens. [alert admin]

Sketsa 3.1.1 (Mac OS X)
Hmmm.. that's another 20 minutes of my life I obviously didn't need. Downloaded and installed and managed to launch the app but hey presto, no tool options were selectable. Went back to the developer's site and read that OSX installs via the web are recommended. Fair enough, off I go, still no selectable tools. It's probably my fault but in this crazy life, who's got time to sort it. [alert admin]

MYOB AccountEdge 2005 8.5.6 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Why are you being an apologist, arcturis?
It seems that arcturis is one of those sad souls who thinks that just because something works on his computer it works for the rest of the world. I do use MYOB and I do run a retail business. Believe me, if my accountant didn't run MYOB I'd be off to Quicken quicker'n you could say 'wingnut'. Perhaps arcturis would like to address the issues I raised in my earlier review? Stuck for words? I thought so ... MYOB for the Mac community is crippled by the lack of features which are available to the Windoze community. [alert admin]

MYOB AccountEdge 2004 7.5.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Treat MYOB with extreme caution. It's expensive software for what it does and it should be ashamed to offer upgrades to its core program to the Mac community when it doesn't have a Mac version of its Retail Manager (windoze only). If you want to run a retail buisness through MYOB forget it! Or if you want to TRY and run any business through MYOB without Retail Manager and combine item and service sales, forget it!! (Duh ... I sell service and parts ... MYOB = sod off). Strangely, its interface is setup in part to incorporate Retail Manager but the lazy so-and-sos are waiting for the right level of whinging before it's written. At the end of the day it's only a fancy database for gods' sake. And just before you get excited about crumbs from the MYOB table, the windoze version of Retail Manager is close to $1000 for what I would consider basic functionality. [alert admin]

Gee, you're absolutely right. I dreamed it all up. And despite the fact that I DO use MYOB, that I DO run a retail business, I still can't wait for MYOB to come down from the clouds and treat the mac community with a bit of respect. Perhaps the last poster would like to explain, for example, why MYOB on the mac platform has an interface design to include Retail Manager but it…
