Opera 9.22 (Mac OS X)

In my opinion the best OS X browser

I have been using OS X for nearly 6 years, which is much longer than most people. I have regularly tried all the web browsers available and have preferred different browsers at various stages in their development. Since version 8, Opera has been the best of the bunch and it keeps getting better. Version 9 is excellent, for many reasons. Don't be put off by the malicious reviews below, especially by the poster "razzdazzle" who does nothing on this website but rubbish selected software, for reasons I, at least, cannot fathom. If you are new to Opera you will need a day or two to get used to the layout and to configure its look to suit you. It's very configurable. Enjoy this excellent browser. [alert admin]

Bookit 3.7.2 (Mac OS X)

Perfect

This is one of thhose little apps that does exactly what you want it to do, and it does is quickly, painlessly and perfectly. With almost no input on my part I have the same bookmarks in all my browsers. Thanks [alert admin]

Opera 9.2 (Mac OS X)

It is the best!

Having given Omniweb a thorough testing I am back to Opera again, and thoroughly relieved too. There is absolutely no question that Opera is the most functional browser available for Mac OS X. It completes every task a browser should quickly and with no fuss or errors. It's rock solid, it's packed with features and it's secure. It looks good (but, yes, the first five minutes you ever use it, it might look a little alien). Easily the best browser available. [alert admin]

Opera 9.1 (Mac OS X)

The Best of the Bunch

I having been testing all the available Internet browsers on a regular basis for over 5 years. I have never been content with a browser that will not give me a completely satisfactory browsing experience. I use the Internet constantly, as it is a large part of my work and I'm often browsing in my spare time. Currently, there is no doubt in my mind that Opera is the best all round browser available for Mac OS X. It is consistently faster than the other browsers (except for starting up), it displays web content correctly, it is packed with functions that some of the other browsers can only dream about, it looks good enough, the plug-ins and other options for displaying multimedia content all work correctly and its performance remains consistent over time. The only other browser can can compare with Opera is Firefox, which I find very slow and quite ugly. I have just given Omniweb a 2 month workout, but it still behaves like it's a two man part-time project (lacking both functionality and sophistication). There is no perfect browser, but Opera is the closest you'll come. 4.5 stars for the application and half a star to offset the bogus reviews. [alert admin]

PasswordVault Lite 5.1.0 (Mac OS X)

Shareware, not freeware

This policy of limiting an application very greatly by capacity until one purchases a licence is completely in line with the normal marketing practices of shareware. I agree that this application cannot claim to be freeware, but is in fact shareware. There is no need to damage the application's potential success by having it mis-marketed in this manner. I would get this changed as soon as possible. Matthew Whiting [alert admin]

FizzBall 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Bonkers!!

This game is completely bonkers. The makers of Professor Fizzwizzle have turned another great looking game, and this one is quite mad and certainly very entertaining and fun to start off with, so 4 stars just for that. I'm tempted to give it a fifth star already, but as yet I have noe idea whether it will hold my attention for very long. With Professor Fizzwizzle I could keep coming back for months until I finished every level, but my guess is that with this one the fun will not last so long. Anyway, quite mad. Try it! [alert admin]

Does anyone really use Opera?

Yes, lots of people use Opera. It is the best browser. I use them all, but Opera is my default and it is now easily the best.

Safeguard your data...

Andreas, thank you for providing this warning. And of course it is equally relevant for those who rely on any cloning app for backup; I use SuperDuper!, myself. In addition to cloning, I burn all my important data periodically to DVD. Matthew Whiting

The Previous version is better

Your rating is TOTALLY BOGUS. Rate the software on its merits. Do not post a one star rating just because you had trouble getting it work. Bogus ratings like yours undermine versiontracker's rating system.

DiskWarrior and Leopard

I beg to differ. This is the first paid upgrade of Disk Warrior for many years. Alsoft never claimed that DW3 worked on Intel Macs, and if you purchased it for that purpose then you made an error. Matthew Whiting

Set up?

Lack of documentation is no reason to give an app a one star rating. A one star rating should be reserved for truly bad software. You have no idea how good or bad this app is. Your rating is BOGUS!. Please do not undermine versiontracker's rating system.
