Gimp.app 2.6.0 (Mac OS X)

Still not stable

Both the app and the companion script hung and needed force quit. Also, click close red dot in a working window and app crashes. Cursor behavior erratic. On the positive side, this version seems to be coming along w/o X-11 dependency. [alert admin]

Avery DesignPro 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Not bad for free

I found that because I no longer use Word or any MS Office products, Neooffice, which is an outstanding product for what it does, does not have the robustness of this freebie in labels, etc. Since they make the labels, you must believe they want you to know the best way to use them. Maybe the 2002 review should be removed as it is not appropriate of the new version at all. [alert admin]

Changes I Ching Software 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Nice, but way overpriced..

Having seen, tried and used iterations of the I Ching, print and digital, this is the finest I have seen so far. Graphics, use, interpretations, and the feel for the print versions is outstanding. What's not to like, The Price. Nice, but way overpriced... While there are free versions of the I Ching online, this product is far nicer, but I'll stay with the print and free versions until the price comes down. Try $14.95 or less and you have a sale. Probably many sales. [alert admin]

Mozilla Firefox 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Works as promised.

Fast, easy to work with, plug ins work fine, Google toolbar, accessed my bank with no problem. Big improvement over RC's. [alert admin]

PowerTicker X 2.6.4 (Mac OS X)

New Version Available window pops up every start of app

Even if you have 2.6.4 and check to not reappear or even D/L again, it keeps coming back. Otherwise, excellent app for years. [alert admin]

Stellarium 0.8.2 (Mac OS X)

Nice but problematic

in that looks to be a winner, BUT if additional apps/windows are open, even in dock, after quitting I lose the ability to use the Close/Reduce to Dock/Expand buttons at the top of each window. I have to Command Q each app and restart the computer to regain control again. Running Disk Utility Verify Disk and Repair Permissions showed no damaging effects. I DO look forward to the next release. Anyone else seeing this? [alert admin]

SOHO Notes 5.5.2 (Mac OS X)

StickyBrain to SOHO Note went fine

No problem with upgrade to SOHONotes 5.5.1 or update 5.5.2 or sync to .Mac. and iCal. Going thru manual now to get to know it, but looks like a fair deal. Thanks. [alert admin]

Celestia 1.4 (Mac OS X)

Beautiful but crashes like an asteroid

Demo mode DOA. I have tried versions for about 2 years and it just doesn't meet my patience criteria. The days of a hard freeze is or should be over. [alert admin]

Flaw in OnyX or Disk Utility?

Exactly the same here. I then ran Disk Warrior 4 from the CD and it did make some needed repairs. I had not seen this in previous versions, and will hold off using it until you tell me you don't see it again, Dester ;-)
