you're allowed to like crap. That's what makes this country great. [alert admin]

Haxial KDX 0.946 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
just read the.. what? FIVE pages of "reviews" all asking for the same thing, all on the same day. Let's hear it for subtlety! Yeah! There goes about 50 Hotmail addreses that are no longer available to someone who will actually USE them. Try asking NICELY, then being PATIENT. It worked for me...I've been thrilled since 0.938. So far as Haxial goes... yeah, they can be just as obnoxious as the user base. But ya know what? They write some sweet software. It may look like garbage (at first, thanks for the appearance options) but it works like a dream. I leave both server and client up for weeks at a time with zero problems. Yes, there are some features I'd like to see (the ability to put a cap on both my uploads and downloads--not neccessarily my server's--would do wonders for my connection... think about it, Haxial?) but for what's already there, KDX is top-notch. Hotline version! Haven't seen one in a while... *opens* huh? This is a classic app? I thought is said OSX... oh, wait, it IS! Odd, still looks like 9 to me... Hey, nice banners... Didn't they get rid of those...? Anyway... yep, all familiar, like slipping on an old, crusty pair of skivvies... heh, still only one connection at a time, huh? Let's open some trackers..!?! YIKES! So much for community... Is there anything good left about Hotline?... *notices alert message* Hm? What's this? *checks firewall app* Whoooooa Nelly! Look at all that attempted traffic! Well, I guess there IS one good thing about Hotline... it let me know that my firewall was working the way it should! ^_^ [alert admin]

AJoiner 2.0 (Mac OS X)
my bad... any particular reason it needs 10.2? The upgrade is just a TAD pricey, and I'd find it hard to believe that 10.1 doesn't have the necessary functionality to run a simple file-joining app... [alert admin]

Haxial KDX 0.941 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
*sorely needed:* better (any) double (and TRIPLE) logging protection... it's starting to become an epidemic... also, haxial, PLEASE don't add the download slot feature, no matter how much the hotline faithful beg for it. all that will accomplish is sitting idle for hours on a server, getting disconnected, and starting all over. at least with b/w capping you have SOMETHING to show for your waiting, and you can pick up where you left off if your connection drops instead of waiting in line again. why are there so many people who insist on recreating the cesspool that is hotline? some things are better left behind... ICQ 3.1a47 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
touts the ability to FINALLY xfer files to/from the PC version. However, I haven't been able to send a file to any PC people that I haven't been sending them to all along, and what's worse, the files i try to send through this version 99% of the time error out in some way (it tells me that it's done, other user gets mabye 100K, sends one file but not the second in a queue, etc.) so I have to relaunch 2.6 (my prev version) to send a file. 3 stars for finally implementing split screen messaging, minus about 5 for not actually fixing the xfer problem. Although this software has been crap since the beginning, still more preferrable than using AOL's evilness. [alert admin]

SNES9X 1.3.9a (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
sees my crappy Gravis Gamepad pro under X. Unfortunately, still doesn't see my Joyport adapter (Not SNES9x's fault, I'm willing to bet). Anyone with the know-how willing to write OS X drivers for this wonderful gadget? The developers apparently ceased updating the software a year and a half ago. [alert admin]

Virex Definitions March (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
the past few months, it's been listed under OS X, ergo, people will complain about the shoddy OS X version of the product here, too [alert admin]
