Primedius Firewall and Messenger pop up blocker 1.0 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Lite/pro deal - NOT FREEWARE

Their website states a (crippled)LITE version is freeware. The one that works, you have to pay for. So this is NOT FREEWARE. Why is it allowed to have a freeware category in VT? 'Lite' is not mentioned in the VT listing. [alert admin]

Surfsecret DVD Rip and Burn 2.12 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

You can do all this for nothing....

...using free tools from doom9. Don't pay money for this rash of DVd copy software that's sprung up lately. [alert admin]

PHP Processor 1.2 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Excuse me but....

...PHP scripts are not stealable in the same way as HTMl code because by the time you see a PHP page on the web, it has already been processed into HTML code. So what is the point of 'obfuscating' it? [alert admin]

Video Stabilizer 2.3 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Finally working!

Now that this has fixed the bug with Norton Firewall, it's a winner. Worth the money. [alert admin]

Not freeware

It's time VersionTracker stopped letting developers submit software as 'freeware'. This is CRIPPLED. It's shareware. [alert admin]

Worst, crashiest Flash export ever devised

It's incredible in such a FANTASTIc program how lazy the programmers have been in trying to 'graft on' a Flash export functionality. It is one of the few pieces of software I have that, when it goes wrong (99% of the time)requires a computer restart. Shame on you Maxxon! Get a PROPER flash module going! [alert admin]

AddWeb 4.02 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

As usual, two crippled versions and one (expensive)working

Houses that produce this kind of software inevitably produce a 'lite' version that's pretty useless for pro work (omitting to call it such, however), to attract your attention, so you think 'Wow, website submission software FINALLY that costs less than $200', The 'usable' version of this costs over $300. CoolTabs 1.1.0.2 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

Quickeys has this…

functionality and is a superb macro program to boot. But their toolbars suck compared to the Quickeys Mac version, so if it's important to you, consider this product. [alert admin]

Fast Browser Pro 6.01 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

This may be…

a dumb question, hit me if you must, but why exactly would anyone want to open 180 browser windows? Sounds like a 'pop-up nightmare' to me! [alert admin]

fitW(fine tuning of Windows) 3.9.0.3500 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

It's difficult to…

trust a program where English is so obviously not the programmer's first language. Paying for translations would increase confidence. I'm not being nasty, it makes a difference.... [alert admin]
