SEEdit Maxi II 2009.03.01 (Mac OS X)

Very Promising Site/HTML Editor

I have only just discovered this editor, but I am very impressed with it so far. It is versatile, yet easy to use. It is definitely worth giving this application a try. Don't let the occasionally flaky English put you off. This is a well designed and easy-to-use editor. [alert admin]

Path Finder 5.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Good But Slightly Buggy

This version of Path Finder (version 5) adds some useful features that make it even more useful than it already was. However, at present it has a display bug which leaves a ghost image when you switch to other applications. I suggest waiting for an update that fixes this before upgrading... [alert admin]

Bento 1.0.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Stick to AppleWorks

Bento has a pretty face, but has no reporting capabilities. At the moment, it is nothing more than a dressed up spreadsheet. The database element in the ageing AppleWorks is still far superior to this effort. You can enter data quite easily, as long as you do not want to import data in a standard database format, such as tab delimited text. Until FileMaker add some genuine data analysis functions to this product, it is useless as a database. That they only support the spreadsheet based CSV format, tells you all you need to now about this "database" application. [alert admin]

Acquisition 117.2 (Mac OS X)

Beware of Paypal Phising Attacks

Although this is an easy-to-use application, the developer only accepts payment via Paypal. This will immediately expose you to phising attacks after creating a Paypal account. [alert admin]

huge disappointment

Since I do not use the Shelf very often, I do not really miss it. And I find the Duel Browser function very useful. However, I agree that it would be nice if we could customize the view so that Path Finder does not look like the Finder. It would be much better, if we could have a "look" that was clearly different, if we so choose. How about some "skins" Cocoatech?

No thanks

iBiz still needs to improve, especially the invoiceing of a mixture of timed and quantity billed items, but it still seems the best of what is available. Both iRatchet and TimeNet look promising, but suffer from basic flaws that mean they could not be considered as an alternative to iBiz yet. Between the three, Mac users have a good choice of easy-to-use invoicing apps, but none of which really met professional needs.

Cool !! (& Responsive)

Yes. Very cool, and much faster than the Windows version I was running under Virtual PC. Great to see a OS X native version at last, and very much looking forward to the final version.
