MoneyWorks Express 5.2.7 (Mac OS X)

I, too, was heartbroken when MacMoney was effectively abandoned by its developers. I begged and pleaded with Mike and Kathy to not let this happen, but apparently development costs were too great, and as time went on it was just too much hassle to boot Classic every time I needed to write an invoice, and now with the Intel machines, it’s just impossible. One would have to maintain a PPC machine devoted to bookkeeping. Moreover, everything horrible that has been said here and elsewhere about MYOB and QuickBooks is absolutely true times 100. I did try them both and threw myself screaming out the window. I’m much better now after I took the chance on Moneyworks Express which is hardly a chance at all as you can try the full version for plenty long enough to find out this is what you’ve wanted all along. As a sole proprietor with clients and invoicing I had to have these features, but in no way am I an accountant. MacMoney was plenty for me, and while one might argue rationally that MoneyWorks is overkill in my situation, anyone with similar needs and maybe more training in real bookkeeping will be blown away by the feature set, stability, speed, everything that we want software to be. DO NOT waste your time with anything else. This is a steal for the price, runs on OSX and Windoze interchangeably, and is simply the best thing on the planet for doing what we in business need to have done. I guess we now have to go half way around the world (New Zealand) to find a product that really works and is something of which its authors should rightly be proud. Wake up USA! Snooze and lose... Corel KnockOut 2.0 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
You must be adivised that although this product works exactly as advertised (I had no problems installing, although they could be a bit more clear in their instructions) I found the hard way after wasting a whole day screwing with it that there is a fundamental conflict with OS 10.3.X. I only found it out after demanding a free tech support phone call (and raising hell to get it) that THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE at Corel, and they have no plans to fix it. The trouble is that you must restart the machine after processing an image in order to process another one. Yes, it works perfect on the first image per restart, but on the second image you try to process, you can attemp to apply the results to the host (Photoshop Elements 2) and nothing happens. All your work on masking the image is just gone. Restart the machine, try it again, and it works fine—for one image only. So, I am ambivalent; it works great if you don’t mind rebooting per image [alert admin]
