BatChmod 1.51 (Mac OS X)

In retrospect

It's good seeing this product being updated, even if it's for no other reason than remind us how far along OS X has come. Legions of people downloaded this helpful app "back in the day", as at times, it was the ONLY way we could empty the Trash! Did anyone else, upon using OS X 10.0 - 10.1 for the first time, have the feeling that Apple had lost their collective minds? Anywho... Good to see BatChmod still lives, but for me at least, it's GREAT that I no longer require it. :-) [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5584.0 (Mac OS X)

No problems here

Running on a 1st gen Macbook Pro with 1.25gb ram. Time from clicking icon in Dock to program launch, 9 second. Time to boot a fresh session of XP to the XP desktop, 53 seconds. Time to suspend my XP session, 9 seconds. Time to restore my suspended session, 11 seconds. Every program I'm running runs reasonably well, Activity Monitor shows Parallels taking approx 30-75% CPU utilization and 385MB RAM. Quite simply couldn't be happier with Parallels, only wish is that I didn't need it! [alert admin]

LogMeIn 4.00.684 (Mac OS X)

Question

Is this something like the "Back to my Mac" feature that's included with Leopard? I'm using "Back to my Mac" right now, and I love it! [alert admin]

Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5540 (Mac OS X)

No probs

Works as least as good as the last beta... plus, I got my C: drive icon back! Just did the Leopard thing last night, and no amount of uninstalling or reinstalling Parallels made a difference. The drive was GONE. New beta and everything is back to normal. [alert admin]

SRS iWOW 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Updated update

Response to my email sez... "We are currently working to find a fix as quickly as possible and hope to have it up no later than Wed Oct 31st. Once again I apologize for the inconvenience." Cool beans [alert admin]

Not worth the hassle or the $$$

Sorry, but my iPhone is running 1.1.4, and iToner works as advertised. Also, I've added, subtracted and added yet again more tones, and not once has iToner "wiped" anything off my iPhone. My experience with iToner has been that it WORKS, and it works perfectly.

Crippled by lack of imagery

The only thing causing a "lack of decent imagery of Canada" is the lack of decent imagery IN Canada ;-)

I Give Up

On the flipside... I too have been using Parallels since it's inception, and have never encountered a problem with the product that wasn't easily solved by their support team. As for installing Parallels, I really don't know how it could be easier. All I've ever done, was to double-click the icon labelled "Install Parallels Desktop" then follow the prompts. Anyways... Parallels is currently running on a slew of machines in our company, ranging from lowly Macbooks to MacBook Pros…

Did not fix ATI Radeon 9600 screen flash

Hmmm... I work with roughly 150 G5's, and none of our ATI Radeon 9600's ever had the problem you're describing, and none of them have the issue after installing the updates. Are you certain you don't have a hardware defect?

Good and bad

There is no such thing as an "in spec" iBook, as iBooks are PPC based. Parallels requires an Intel processor, and every bit of published material clearly and plainly states so. If you mis-spoke and meant "MacBook", I apologize (though Parallels has been successfully deployed on ALL of our MacBooks), but if you really meant "iBook", then your review is meaningless as you didn't read the product requirements.

Pathetic review

For those of you that prefer to rant (without bothering with details such as facts), the HACKS to the iPhone were made possible because of a SECURITY FLAW in iPhones software. Since Apple is somewhat obligated to fix FLAWS which could COMPROMISE MY DATA, I, for one, have NO PROBLEM awaiting the SDK that'll allow REAL 3RD PARTY SOFTWARE to be written. Tell ya what... for those of you that'd rather complain about Apple fixing buffer overflows…

DO NOT PURCHASE! They will Rip You Off.

I purchased the iWow software and SRS Labs didn't rip me off, therefore you are a liar.

:-)

It'd be difficult to be buggier than the last release... since it's the exact same file. b4 is the exact same build as b1 (18274), same file size, everything. Go ahead. Click "Get Info" on beta 1 and beta 4. They're the same program. Only the license agreements have been changed. Shame on you, Yahoo
