The Manor 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Why no feedback

If your wondering where all the feedback for our products is, because this is a social product, we get most feedback via the product itself (which is probably not what your looking for). You can also look at our community web site to see the trials and tribulations going on: http://community.madwolfsw.com [alert admin]

The Manor 0.12.5 (Mac OS X)

Previous posts

As there is obviously a great deal of misinformation floating about, and it is unclear if the Version Tracker admin will remove the preceding posts, it becomes necessary to respond. The Manor is certainly not the first 2D visual chat environment and probably won't be the last. In fact the net is littered with several others. The Manor is entirely new code from the ground up, despite what some would like people to believe. As to being a "rip-off", sure there are UI elements that are similar. Just as there are UI elements that are similar between Windows and Macintosh. For anyone that is familiar with other chats of this genre, that honestly try the software, the differences are apparent. As to ownership of The Palace specifically, The Palace was created as a work for hire at Time Warner and spun off into it's own entity. The current owners of thepalace.com, by their own admission on their website, do not own the rights to the software. Ergo, they do not have the right to authorize anyone to write any software for The Palace. What The Manor is trying to do is create a self sustaining chat environment. No one is remotely thinking about getting rich from something like this. As to driving groups away from another chat, people talk to each other and share information. That is the nature of the internet, and is outside the control of any individual. There is no organized conspiracy by this developer to destroy some other chat environment, nor would it be possible. People make up their own minds what products suite their needs. Regarding the "group" the previous poster refers to, this horrible group of people consists of one very tired engineer and his family. The Manor is a labor of love, not some corporate entity trying to make a fast buck. If it's so wrong to try and feed my family at the same time, then guilty as charged. [alert admin]
