MacSword 2.0.2-271 (Mac OS X)
Very ironic that an "application for research and study of God and His Word" is named MacSword, and the icon is a cross morphed into a weapon of war. Very medieval military. [alert admin]

MenuCalendarClock for iCal 4.1 (Mac OS X)
Careful: Install and Relaunch Failure
Version 4.1 locked up most of CPU while installing and relaunching. It finally became inactive. Had to force quit and install version 4.0. Wait for a fix. [alert admin]

Grammarian PRO X 1.8.6b2 (Mac OS X)
Don't Even Bother Using with Snow Leopard
As I've said before, Grammarian has saved my bacon more times than I care to remember, but it's always been cranky. As the dictionary says, "A badly assembled collection of parts hastily assembled to serve some particular purpose (often used to refer to computing systems or software that has been badly put together)." Getting it to work with Snow Leopard is painful. Crashes galore and erratic behavior. Let's see whether the developer can pull this back from the abyss with a new version. [alert admin]

Spell Catcher X 10.3.2 (Mac OS X)
Don't Even Bother Using with Snow Leopard
Love this program, but getting it to work with Snow Leopard is such a kludge. Performance is erratic. Wait for the new version. [alert admin]

Apple Safari 4.0.3 (Mac OS X)
I love Safari. It's elegant and fast. It works with all Web sites except minor ones like FACEBOOK. What the devil has WebKit done to screw up Safari's functionality? Worse, every WebKit nightly release fixes one problem and creates another.
Gecko handles Facebook beautifully. Why should customers have to accommodate themselves to Safari's quirks? Until Safari is fixed—really fixed—Firefox, as clunky as it is, will have to do.

Hulu Desktop 0.9.6 (Mac OS X)
This would be a marvelous application if it worked. Be prepared for timeouts. [alert admin]

OmniWeb 5.10.1 (Mac OS X)
Ad and Flash Blocking Ridiculously Byzantine
It's not as though users haven't asked Omni for years to make ad blocking a simple Command-Click menu item, but nobody is listening. Sure, you can block ads, but the method is unnecessarily complicated compared with AdBlock on Safari or Adblock Plus on Firefox. If this feature were fixed, OmniWeb would be the browser of choice. Safari Cookies 0.7 (Mac OS X)
Safari Cookies works, but it's not as easy to use as its predecessor (and lamented) SafariPlus. Version 0.7 has developed scrolling and sorting problems in its cookies' list. Safari Cookies works, but it requires user patience. [alert admin]

Apple Safari 4.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Safari 4.0.2 is almost where it should have been at v4.0. It's far more stable and nimble, If…if you turn off Preferences>Security>Fraudulent sites. Leave the preference on, and everything slows to crawl at times. [alert admin]

Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 10.0 (Mac OS X)
Still Loyal After All These Years
Why the devil can't Adobe use Apple's UI conventions? Stop fighting with Apple and her customers. No your market. I've been using Dreamweaver since the early days of Macromedia and have always liked the application. Adobe bought Macromedia, and their sole goal has been to integrate Dreamweaver and Fireworks into their product line without regard for the customer or quality. Worse, Adobe's customer service and technical support are Byzantine and adversarial, as good as hostile. Don't worry, because it takes hours to get through to someone. Even longer when your calls get dropped. [alert admin]

More money for old functionality
I thought I was the only person who thought, "Didn't I just pay $20.00 for this thing?" The developer can list a series of under-the-hood improvements, but to the user the new version has only one new function. $20.00 here, $20.00 there, and were soon up in the big-boy application territory.

Brass Hammer, I don't understand why you're assuming the worse. No sarcasm intended; I really don't understand. You must know something I don't. Have you contacted the developer? If so, what was their response?

Crashing & chrashing & crashing ...
Are you using any third-party plugins? If so, remove them. I've had no problems with the latest version of Safari.

I appreciate your suggestions and have done each. Unfortunately, nothing has helped, including reinstalling a fresh OS 10.4x. And it was their Tech Support who suggested reformatting my Blackberry 7290.
