EGADS IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!

This software is not 64 bit yet according to libertyforall1776! It's the end of the world! It's 2012!! GAME OVER MAN!!! What shall we do? Frankly libertyforall1776 it will be released for 64 bit when the developer thinks it makes fiscal sense and not one day before that. Why not give us all a rest please! [alert admin]

Mac Help Widget 2.01 (Mac OS X)

If you're interested in the bottom line $$...

... or how much does it cost I found this quote from their site. (This is one of my pet peeves with folks who charge for products and/or services on the net. I don't mind folks charging $$ but why hide that info from the consumer. Why not place a big old red button on the home page that says in big bold letters BOTTOM LINE $$?) Whatever the reason here's the quote: "Rates Rates are based on the level of support and response time that you require. Discounts apply for pre-paid retainers and scheduled maintenance. Although emergency support is available any time, nights and weekends are charged at a slightly higher rate. Rates for scheduled maintenance are considerably less and save the trip charge that applies to emergency visits. Maintenance calls can be scheduled as frequently as twice a week or seldom as every three months. Prepay and Retain Our Services at Discounted Rates Maintenance and support contracts based on retainers start as low as $1000. The more scheduled visits and / or the higher retainer, the lower your hourly rates. To simplify billing, all services provided by Mid Atlantic Consulting are applied against your retainer balance. Equipment and Parts are billed separate from retainers. *Free consultation applies to Business Accounts Only. This is a strategic/planning meeting - No work will be performed. Personal computer consultations are billed at our normal hourly rates. We guarantee our work but if you are ever unhappy with us, any remaining balance on your account will be refunded." PalaceChat 3.0.47 (Mac OS X)

The software works on 10.6.2 but...

...I do believe no one uses it any more. All the chat rooms are completely empty. I wonder how they're paying for the servers that host this software when it seems nobody is using it? [alert admin]

Yes it lives!

I thought this was abandonware but it's back and I'm glad. So far it works like a charm under Snow Leopard and I'm very happy!! :-) [alert admin]

CalendarMaker 5.0.6 (Mac OS X)

I was really excited until...

...I tried to copy it from the disk image to my hard drive. It gave some cryptic error message and wouldn't do it. Other than that it works fine from the disk image. [alert admin]

NetNewsWire 3.1.7 (Mac OS X)

Seems these folks don't know what they want

The last version I downloaded was after they changed from a paid version at $29.95 to a free version which is what I was using since I didn't feel like paying for it. Now it's back to what it was before only they've dropped the price for the paid version to $14.95. To me this is not a very professional way to handle a business. I don't mind them charging a fee or using adds to help defray development costs but this going back and forth is very confusing. It also makes me wonder if these folks will soon be out of business due to their confusing business plan, if they even have one. The only good thing is the free version I have works just fine. Is there anything spectacular the new version does that I might want or should I just stick with what works? [alert admin]

Delicious Library 2.3 (Mac OS X)

Upgrading to new version destroyed it!

I just upgraded to the new version from v. 2.1.1, which worked fine, and now all it does is crash. I've also used Time Machine to restore the older version that worked and even that crashes no matter how many times I trash the preferences. This is not good as now I have no application and I'm out the purchase price. :-( [alert admin]

Good replacement for Fruitmenu and Windowshade X

This is a good replacement for Fruitmenu and Windowshade X from Unsanity. All it needs is a customizable Apple menu like Fruitmenu and a fix for the bug that renders all app icons in the task bar too tiny to see. If they take care of those two things I'd give it two more stars. [alert admin]

Unsanity's communication policy :-(

Whether we like it or not this is Unsanity's official communication policy taken from one of their blogs: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Note: Please do not post comments and/or send emails asking about the present and/or future of things not mentioned in this post. Such comments will be moderated, deleted, or edited. When we have something to say about other products, it will be posted, and not a moment before then. Asking us about ETAs just ends up wasting both of our time. Apologies for taking such a harsh stance, but the only thing we would tell you is "it'll be done when it's done" and we're trying to prevent a repeat of the tens of thousands of comments/emails we've received asking for an ETA. Any kind of timeframe or ETA we could possibly give will be wrong and users get very disappointed when ETAs are missed. That's the nature of ETAs, they are always wrong. And due to the fact we won't release something before we feel it is ready, any ETA is even more likely to be missed." [alert admin]

But can it...

...connect with users on other IM's? Not everybody uses MSN. Some use ICQ, AOL, iChat, Yahoo Messenger, etc. Adium talks to all the prominent ones. Can aMSN do that? If not it's aMSN that needs to catch up and not the other way around.

That seems to be a revolving issue with Apple

They fix it, they break it, they fix it, they break it....... The good thing is it's more of a nuisance than a real problem.

Good reply

I don't think the previous two posters got the reference to retail customers.

Well it works under Snow Leopard

I just upgraded my system and it still works but now that I think about it the application needs the left Apple menu more centered over the Apple icon like in the finder and it needs a better way to resize the task bar itself.

I appreciate all your hard work Alex!

I also greatly appreciate your willingness to communicate directly with your customers on a regular basis. You do a much better job than Unsanity which leaves everybody in the dark for long periods of time and then from out of nowhere appears and promises to do better then disappears like a ghost only to repeat the pattern.

Sorry you are angry at Unsanity

I know it's quite upsetting when Unsanity is so silent on the issue of Snow Leopard compatibility but attacking me won't help things. You would be better served to send them your comments in this regard.
