Dock-It 2.7 (Mac OS X)
I thought this was abandonware but it's back and I'm glad. So far it works like a charm under Snow Leopard and I'm very happy!! :-) [alert admin]

CalendarMaker 5.0.6 (Mac OS X)
...I tried to copy it from the disk image to my hard drive. It gave some cryptic error message and wouldn't do it. Other than that it works fine from the disk image. [alert admin]

Seems these folks don't know what they want
The last version I downloaded was after they changed from a paid version at $29.95 to a free version which is what I was using since I didn't feel like paying for it. Now it's back to what it was before only they've dropped the price for the paid version to $14.95. To me this is not a very professional way to handle a business. I don't mind them charging a fee or using adds to help defray development costs but this going back and forth is very confusing. It also makes me wonder if these folks will soon be out of business due to their confusing business plan, if they even have one. The only good thing is the free version I have works just fine. Is there anything spectacular the new version does that I might want or should I just stick with what works? [alert admin]

Upgrading to new version destroyed it! ![]()

I just upgraded to the new version from v. 2.1.1, which worked fine, and now all it does is crash. I've also used Time Machine to restore the older version that worked and even that crashes no matter how many times I trash the preferences. This is not good as now I have no application and I'm out the purchase price. :-( [alert admin]

Good replacement for Fruitmenu and Windowshade X ![]()

This is a good replacement for Fruitmenu and Windowshade X from Unsanity. All it needs is a customizable Apple menu like Fruitmenu and a fix for the bug that renders all app icons in the task bar too tiny to see. If they take care of those two things I'd give it two more stars. [alert admin]

Unsanity's communication policy :-(
Whether we like it or not this is Unsanity's official communication policy taken from one of their blogs: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Note: Please do not post comments and/or send emails asking about the present and/or future of things not mentioned in this post. Such comments will be moderated, deleted, or edited. When we have something to say about other products, it will be posted, and not a moment before then. Asking us about ETAs just ends up wasting both of our time. Apologies for taking such a harsh stance, but the only thing we would tell you is "it'll be done when it's done" and we're trying to prevent a repeat of the tens of thousands of comments/emails we've received asking for an ETA. Any kind of timeframe or ETA we could possibly give will be wrong and users get very disappointed when ETAs are missed. That's the nature of ETAs, they are always wrong. And due to the fact we won't release something before we feel it is ready, any ETA is even more likely to be missed." [alert admin]

Application Enhancer 2.5.2 (Mac OS X)
This explains Unsanity's silence
I think this is an unwise policy but it's Unsanity's policy on communication with customers: "Note: Please do not post comments and/or send emails asking about the present and/or future of things not mentioned in this post. Such comments will be moderated, deleted, or edited. When we have something to say about other products, it will be posted, and not a moment before then. I have noticed one thing about Unsanity is that for every year since 2002 they've always posted an upgrade to APE. If they miss 2009 that might just indicate they are having problems. [alert admin]

uBar 1.0.6 (Mac OS X)
Not a bad little application but it needs the ability to be positioned on any side of the monitor and not just the bottom. It also needs to be able to run under Snow Leopard which is not indicated on their web site. Add those two improvements and it would be great. [alert admin]

Unsanity just updated Fruit Menu today 8-1-09. The update runs just fine so far and if there are problems I will update my findings accordingly. I just wish Unsanity would handle keeping us informed on things a little more consistently. But that's their responsibility not mine. [alert admin]

I sent an email with crash report and they sent me a newer beta version which also crashed. I sent another email with crash report and have heard nothing since.

I just upgraded my system and it still works but now that I think about it the application needs the left Apple menu more centered over the Apple icon like in the finder and it needs a better way to resize the task bar itself.

I also greatly appreciate your willingness to communicate directly with your customers on a regular basis. You do a much better job than Unsanity which leaves everybody in the dark for long periods of time and then from out of nowhere appears and promises to do better then disappears like a ghost only to repeat the pattern.

I know it's quite upsetting when Unsanity is so silent on the issue of Snow Leopard compatibility but attacking me won't help things. You would be better served to send them your comments in this regard.

It costs nothing to download the demo from Version Tracker. If you plan to keep it then it costs $79. Let's get our facts straight shall we.
