Solitaire Forever 1.0.1 (iPhone)

Great to see this on the iPhone!

I already use Klondike forever, the free Klondike-only version of this game, on my Mac. And it is incredible to see this ported over to the iPhone with all it's perfect graphics and sound. And not only that, it offers many more games, making it well worth the money. The best Solitaire implementation I know on both the Mac and the iPhone! [alert admin]

Shimo 2.0.4 (Mac OS X)

Same feelings as other comments...

...about: First, I don't find it aceptable that software built-in update mechanism want to install a new version that makes a former freewar into a shareware. This is close to scam if it doesn't inform the user about this change BEFORE installing the update. Secondly, like for others commenting to me before, I only used this instead of the ugly Cisco frontend, so I can't justify it the shareware fee just for a GUI replacement. Maybe a 2.x "light" version without its own VPN enging for folks who have already installed Cisco VPN (for company usage reasons) for a little to no fee would be a good idea. Until then, I will have to stick with version 1.0.7, or just with the Cisco client. [alert admin]

Shimo 1.0.4.1 (Mac OS X)

Very nice!

Great little app. Not that it adds any functionality of the Cisco built-in GUI, but it offers the same functions in a MUCH more mac-like user interface, and VERY unobtrusive! Keep the good stuff going! :-) [alert admin]

Superb! Just what I was looking for

This is a great little Widget! A lot easier to use than the website timetable search of MVV, yet with the same functionality. Easy to use, looks neat, is fast, and best of all: is free! What else can you ask for? :-) [alert admin]

Serene Saver 2 HD 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Fantastic saver and desktop - and great support!

After downloading the trial version, I first had the same issue someone else described. After installing, I was buggled with "do you want to take a break" messages I could not get rid of despite having them switched off in the settings. The I used their web site to contact support, and could hardly believe I got an answer from the developed almost instantaneously that he knew the bug, and was already working to fix it. Then, next morning, I got another mail from him telling me it was fixed, and I should download again. This is GREAT service! And now that the product runs smoothly, I did not hesitate spendning the money for the full version, knowing it was a good product combined with perfect service. Very relaxing! [alert admin]

What's going on?

Not sure why Versiontracker wouldn't list the changes, but when I use the "Check for updates" function WITHIN the software it will always give me a detailed change log. In this case it seems the developer is very actively working on the beta, and adding new functionality and fixing bugs on an almost daily basis.

3.2.1 still not 64-bit!

I wonder if you have any clue what 64-bit is good for. In and by itself, 64-bit has no advantage, especially no speed advantage over the same application in 32-bit. The only exception is if an app needs to address more the 4GB of physical memory. This is the memory limit for 32-bit apps. Since they can't address more, the need to swap, or do other creative things to work around this. Good example of an…

Dangerous!

<<Worst case you have to reinstall the OS. No big deal.>> Nope, unfortunately NOT! Region codes are written back into the DVD drive firmware. So OS reinstallation would not help. You would need to replace the actual DVD drive, no way to get this made undone. For some DVD drives, there are Windows applications out there replacing the firmware with a hack version that is region free. But only for some drives, and with the risk…

Still won't recognize built-in iSight

From what I understand, Parallels supports the camera in principle, but doesn't provide the drivers since they are intellectul property of Apple. Therefore, you must install the BootCamp drivers from Apple in your virtual machine, which should make the camera work.

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs

Hi, 2 fixes I found at once: 1) the iPod export resolution can be set in the settings, to thew old 320 resolution is still there 2) Yes, PiP only seems to work in full screen. I also had this blank content first. The way it works is you must have 2 active TV windows open before you invoke this function. To do so you must choose the "Open TV Window" (or however it is called in the…

Still no sound...

Are you sure you manually added the sound option to your virtual machine config? This was the reason I had no sound for long time on my MBP. So you have to edit the VM when Windows in not running, click on "Add..." and from the Wizard pick the sound card. It also might help if you have configured one to remove it first with the "Remove" button, and then re-add it. Afterward, you might have to…

6.0b1 beta??

Hi, this program exists for years for Linux. 6.0 is the first version they also port to Mac OS X. Similar to Parallels that started with 2.1 right away as this is the version that has the same functionality like the Linux version. So no "cheap marketing trick" or such.

Very Nice!

One comment regarding boot speed: seems that the RAM caches some of the boot, so when you boot XP, shut it down, and then boot again, it almost boots at double the speed than the first time (similar to other apps that start faster a second time), provided you have plenty of RAM on your host machine, of course.
