PrintMagic X 4.0 (Mac OS X)

Eliminating Rare NilObjectException Message

Out of all the registered users of PrintMagic 4.0, I've received 2 reports of this error message, and within a couple of hours I was able to provide a solution for them. To date, not a single user of the demo version has reported a problem -- of any type -- to me. I truly don't understand why a user that experiences a problem would post this info without first at least notifying the developer to verify the program is responsible for the problem and to see if there is a workaround/fix for the issue. I don't regularly check VT's pages, as user's should be contacting product support to report/verify a problem and to get any existing issue resolved. If BIG77 or anyone else has a problem of any type with PrintMagic, I'd be happy to work with them to quickly resolve it. Product support for PrintMagic is available at: printmagicx@macease.com Thank you. [alert admin]

PrintMagic X 3.5 (Mac OS X)

chillywilly5280 is wrong

It's a shame a user posts such a negative comment (and rating) when it's completely incorrect. First of all, PrintMagic isn't capable of making his info disappear. It's standard operating procedure for the OS to delete highlighted text in a text entry field if the user hits the space bar or types a character (this user may not have realized he did this, but I expect this is what happened) -- this has nothing to do with PrintMagic and would occur whether or not PrintMagic was on his computer! Many if not most programs let accidentally deleted material be recovered by typing Commnad-z, but again this has nothing to do with PrintMagic. The other items this user is complaining about are not because of problems with PrintMagic but rather because he failed to follow the incredibly simple (at least for most users) instructions for using PrintMagic. In any case, if this user had emailed me for technical support, his "issues" would have quickly been resolved. BTW, PrintMagic works fine with Apple's Mail app, as well as with most other programs. I suggest you download the free, fully functional demo so you can see for yourself how useful PrintMagic is and how well it works. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about PrintMagic. Best regards, Steve Becker steve@macease.com [alert admin]

MacMagic 1.0 (Mac OS X)

MacMagic Info and Corrections to Feedback

As the developer of MacMagic, I'd like to provide you with some additional information about MacMagic. Also, I want to correct some information that has been posted here about MacMagic. Because MacMagic provides multiple display options, it would rrequire posting multiple screenshots to accurately represent its appearance. For those of you that would like to know what MacMagic looks like, here is the URL for a page that contains both several images of MacMagic and some descriptive info about those images: http://www.macease.com/macmagic_snapshots.html The post by JoshFofer is incorrect. As documented and explained on my web site, MacMagic represents the next generation of my highly rated WebPrint Plus utility. However, there has never been any other change of name for any of my utilities. In fact, iPrint and PrintMagic are separate programs and can be ordered as such. Also, his descriptions of the appearance and functionality of MacMagic are so inaccurate that one can only assume this misrepresentation is intentional on his part. I don't understand the comments by sprindle1 about a lack of documentation because MacMagic includes a very thorough Help Tag system, many context-sensitive Help windows, a comprehensive ReadMe file, and even a document that explains how to create an OS X Startup Item. The feedback I've been getting from users is that the program is easy to use and very well documented. Any users that have any questions about MacMagic are welcome to email me at: steve@macease.com The free and fully-functional MacMagic demo lets you judge MacMagic for yourself, so I invite you to give it a try. Please feel free to email me with your feedback, and constructive criticism also is welcome. Steve Becker MacEase http://www.macease.com [alert admin]

InfoManager 2.0 (Mac OS 9)

As the author…

of InfoManager, I find it disappointing to see erroneous comments about InfoManager being posted. Specifically: 1. InfoManager doesn't work either within or on top of other programs. InfoManager is a utility that works "with" most programs (including most web browsers and email clients). 2. InfoManager does not place "an un-removable floating button on top of...." In fact, InfoManager's interface is a compact and highly customizable palette of tools that may be windowshaded, iconified, dragged to any location on the Desktop, or completely hidden. 3. InfoManager also allows you to create your own keyboard shortcuts, so many of its features work even when InfoManager isn't visible. 4. Since InfoManager runs off of a single extension, there's no need to either launch or quit InfoManager (this extension shows up in and can be controlled by your extensions manager and can be found by Sherlock). If a user reads the ReadMe file (displayed in the installer prior to installation and also installed so it's available for future reference) they will see: 1. Simple instructions for both disabling and/or uninstalling InfoManager are provided. (Disabling InfoManager requires moving just a single file, and uninstalling requires removing just a single file and a single folder.) 2. An installer log is provided as part of the installation. 3. Instructions for using InfoManager are provided (InfoManager also includes a Visual Quick Start Guide, Balloon Help, and menu-based Tips). I suggest that rather then relying on the comments of some users that have -- among other things -- gotten even the basic facts about InfoManager wrong, you download the free and fully functional InfoManager demo so you can try it for yourself -- after all, that's why I created it. :-) BTW, the ReadMe file also includes my email address, as suggest [alert admin]

Never worked properly

The issue Mysobriquet has mentioned is quite rare, and if he/she (or any user) emails tech support at <webprintx@macease.com>, I'd be happy to supply a fast and simple workaround. WebPrint Plus X works with almost all OS X apps (including many apps that can't print or save their own data), and WebPrint Plus X includes a built-in routine for fixing the rare cases where it does have trouble communicating with another program.
